Excellent point on splitting a big jackpot. To the OP, in Pick 3 and 4 games, you get full payout for each dollar spent, regardless of how many people hit the winning number. The only game I ever had good success was Pick 3, and to a lesser degree All or Nothing. But when Tx went to 4 draws a day I quit Pick 3 because playing 4 draws a day would make the cost to play too high to have a chance to win more than lose. It does work any state. The pick 3 rocks. now don't get me wrong. others have other ways, charts, etc. and yes everything good. I think it depends on a pattern. I believe the rundown has a 2 digit match guarantee when 3 different digits are drawn and has five sets of mirror or VTracs combos. 036-581, 147-692, 258-703, 369-814, and 470-925. I just started looking at something that showed 10 hits in the win4 in the last 17 days. Which obviously sounds great on the outside, right. 3 of the 10 winning numbers were straights too. It involves something I learned about here called 'vtracs'. Problem is, the pool for each draw involves 80 numbers.
