Given that the Odds on MegaMillions are about to skyrocket I believe Michigan should go it alone and pull out of the Multistate games. Before Ohio added PB and MM to its list of games I remember traveling up RT23 to the first truck stop north of the boarder and seeing hundreds of Ohio tagged cars and double lines of people buying lottery tickets when ever their jackpots exceeded $100M. I'm probably more skeptical than most when people redundantly talk about spending imaginary winnings, but those $1 and $2 tickets also buy a dream. Maybe play poker the odds are more in your favor. Most poker tables seat nine players and some tourneys have thousands of players. There many poker players that win many times, but you won't find one that wins every time. Besides where can you find a poker game where you buy in for $1 or $2 and can win millions?

I've been spending a lot of time on this over the last 6 months and in the end regardless of what method I choose the problem is consistently getting past 6 digits with any kind of reliability. The conditions that allow me to isolate 6 matching digits simply do not occur often enough in the remaining 4 digits (I am only concerned about matching 10 out of 10) to establish any kind of affordable playing strategy. Thanks for sharing. Yeah the state lotteries... I like the odds, but to get so little when you are just one number off sucks. In MD we have a 6 number game, I got 5 of 6 last year and got $2500 if I remember correctly. I really have no technique except I like to buy my tickets in certain areas, so far I have had at least a $2500 win in MD, DC, and VA. I have liked redeeming in MD the best because the stores that actually say they cash large tickets actually do. I am going to explore the site

Variance be snip ed. A +EV gamble is all that I am concerned about. I don't like to gambler per se, just to bet on things that have a positive expectation, even if the odds of winning are terribly bad. At that point, it becomes a function of bankroll management. For example, if the MM was large enough to be +EV mathematically speaking, I would certainly purchase tickets. However, I wouldn't bet the farm on such a mathematically improbable thing. Cant say as I blame you! I'm located in New York's Hudson Valley and have just under an hour's drive to buy tickets, but to me it's worth it. It's very hard to find odds like the PA raffles offer to win a million dollars. The tickets I bought yesterday were actually purchased by my wife. Every other month or so, she calls on physicians offices that are located in a NY town that's located on the border with PA. Couldn't pass up that opportunity to get some tickets. G5
