Can prayer affect the outcome of a lottery
Libelous... in an anonymous forum... You do have a sense of humor... Seriously though little guy, don't try to explain your motives. This whole thread was phony-baloney rhetoric from the get-go and it's only purpose was to create controversy and strife because you thrive on it. You were called out on your lottery pool scam and got busted, big whoop. Now you're mad at the world and want to get even. And you can't even do that right.

NY Scratch-off Discussion
i bought eight $30 million a year for life, two $20 win for life spectaculars. i ended up losing on both spectaculars, getting a $100, $35, $30 and $40 from others, so basically I lost around 75 bucks. the only reason i play the win for lifes in new york is because i view them as not a scam, let me explain. in new jersey, when you read the back of any $1mil top prize scratch off, you have to receive either $650k or the top prize over 20 years.. so if you win $1mil in NJ, you end up with

Special Prayer for Dad
I will no longer respond... Wow, you only kept your word for a little over 3 hours. Nobody's gonna wanna send money out of the country to you for your lottery scam for sure now. Too risky. BTW, I don't think you fully grasp how incredibly annoying you are. Now go clean up the caribou crap in the front yard or there's no jumping on the trampoline all day tomorrow for you little man. Go on now, you heard me.

Statistics around the balance of even/odd and small/big numbers
Don Catlin did a good job of addressing something totally different. His article is his take on playing sum totals. I see nothing in that article dealing with probablity of odd/even numbers or high/low numbers which is the discussion in this thread. Don is talking about drawing 5 white balls, numbered 1 to 53 from one hopper, and 1 red ball from a pool numbered 1 to 42 from another. He makes no attempt to examine the possibilities of odd/even or high/low balls being drawn. Now, if you read

Florida woman accused of running personal lottery
Includes video report A mother who solicited her neighbors for cash with the promise of a $500 prize was arrested Saturday and charged with leading an illegal lottery, authorities said. Tina Marie Bell, 47, had her daughter fill mailboxes with letters asking residents to send $5 entrance fees for a chance at the winnings, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report. All money was to be sent to Bell's home on Rainbow Lane. A neighbor asked the Sheriff's Office if the lottery w

That's great, glad to hear you won Take5!!! Now you can get some free plays! I never tell the clerk that I know my ticket is a winner before I hand it over, I want to see if they are going to scam me! Oh No! New England Just Got a Second Touchdown. Conspiracy Theories, the Lottery Edition
A while back we had a thread on Lottery Urban Legends and several people have mentioned them in their blogs. Let's take it a step further and do a thread on Lottery Conspiracy Theories, or the Lottey Tin Hat awards. Occassionally there's a pretty far out thread here on LP, and we've all been in line to play our tickets and have overheard somde pretty outlandish stuff. Here's a few, for starters: When you play advanced play your are programming a RNG what not to draw. Certain zip cod

Vt. Lottery computer glitch creates extra winners
Quick Picks are bogus! I know of examples where identical tickets were sold in other states and they were losers. The system-wide error is built into the distribution and when you can have multiple winners, you can have multiple losers with identical sets of numbers in play for the same drawing. The terminals are pre-loaded with QP s from the central office. There is only the idea that when the QP s are sold there are no repeats of sets until the entire pool of combinations is exhausted. That

If you have to appear on either Oprah or The Lottery Changed My Life...
Luckily, I live in a state where a person can collect lotto prizes anonymously. But even if I couldn't remain anonymous, there is no doubt in my mind I would absolutely want to win the lotto. To make sure I don't become a target, I'd make it known I won't keep large amounts of cash or precious metals in my home. I'd make people think that most of my wealth is in the banking system or tide up in long term investments that I don t have immediate access to even if that's not really the case.

Do Wealthy People Play The Lottery?
rosie, it used to be the biggest scam going back in the day and I'm sure others here will remember as well. When the Food Stamp criteria was loose , most anyone could go down and get 'em...and a BUNCH of 'em at that. Problem was that people were taking these food vouchers and selling them to others FOR CASH and making out like you wouldn't believe!!!! Well, the government started to get hip to what was happening and tightened up the criteria rules big time. Then, those that really did need 'e
