Sure, I have been going on and on about #10 and 60 hits this year. Here's why I did it.
I'm thinking of #10 as kind of a free number . If I play it every time I play for the rest of this year, and it hits, then all I have to do is match four of 38 numbers. That reduces the odds of winning a jackpot from 575,757 to 1 to 501,942 to 1. I agree, that isn't much, but I'll take all the help I can get! G5

PA Millionaire Raffle- St. Patrick's Day Edition
Yep, that's what they've done. Raffle sales begin May-3rd and runs to July-9th 8:00 pm. 500,000 tickets available with same prize structure as usual. No changes.
Surprised to see the raffle continuing. It could be PA Lottery isn't overly concerned about past low sales, or, very possibly, they had already committed to 4 raffles for the year, regardless. PA fiscal year ends June. So it's possible, even if sales are better, which they likely will be, this could be the final PA Lottery raffle in

The pool you a part of wins the Powerball jackpot : The only problem is...
I'm not gonna lie, I've debated for a while before making any comment on this. Simply because it's an excellent question to which I have no answer and in responding to it, I'm probably giving it enough weight and credence for the universe to make sure it to happens to me.
I'm sure regardless of outcome, there's a part of me that would want the person weeded out of the gene pool permanently. Though I'd hope I would accept the situation with civility and grace with the mindset that it wasn't m

Working on algorithm
My last attempt at at Powerball (I tend to stick to Cash 3 but occasionally I branch out). I started trying to apply the same metrics I use on Cash 3. It didn't take long to realize that since there's one pool of many balls instead of three small pools of balls, I'd need to take a different approach. What lane the balls come in is false. The balls are all drawn out of order and then put in order on the website. So basing anything on the order seemed fruitless.
From there, I started working on

Tracking pairs
Repeat pairs. I won't go into percentages and odds and all that.
I break the pair down as such: 457= 45 47 57
I track it as such and use as base component for building combos. I go back and use pairs from 11 draws back before filtering.
If you can incorporate that, I'm interested. No other software tracks as such, so I use pencil and paper.

I need help with odds calculations
Not sure how Bill Gates got into the discussion.
Actually the poster who started this thread was doing fine as long as he stucked to questions about calculating lottery games odds, it was when he assumed such knowledge could be used to calculate a winning combination that the confusion started.
Reminds me of the time I instructed a member how he could use copy and paste in Notepad to replace the numbers in a lottery wheel and he replied that was easy now tell me how to write a program u

I need help with odds calculations
I learned that idea from BobP. It doesn't matter if anyone is playing QP's, or any other method. There are conditions to winning a jackpot. Again, the idea is to try to reduce the odds when the conditions of however you're playing are met. It's not perfect.
Not sure how Bill Gates got into the discussion.
Again, to each his own.

A crazy lottery story
This morning I purchased two lottery tickets for this week's Mega and Power from a vending machine. They were quick picks. The computer definitely generated two sets of numbers but the printer jammed and no tickets were printed. When they opened the machine and pulled out the ticket paper it was all blank. There was just a young kid working there who knew nothing. I have since been told that the computer will void the first ticket that jammed but the second ticket (the powerball) should print as
