How long would you wait before claiming your prize?
I think I would set up a revocable trust to claim the prize. The Calif Omnibus says - Under unique conditions, the Director may allow prize winnings to be paid to someone other than a natural person. These other entities are (a) a non-profit 501-C corporation, or (b) a revocable trust where the grantor is the winner and the trust is linked to the grantor's social security number I don't feel comfortable setting up a trust and having a team manage my money, especially lawyers. The thing with t

Disgruntled Lottery Employees Tell Everything!
They might get a wireless adapter at Micro Center for $10 that works for Wi-Fi hot spots. They don't have to throw it away, that just helps avoid the paper trail, or the actual proof that the post came from their computer, if it came to that, which I very seriously doubt that it would. The wireless adaptor is the link between the Wi-Fi connection and the computer. It is just a security measure to get rid of it. It is almost like your fingerprint so to speak. If you wear latex gloves, and get

what would u do if u win the mega million tonight
(1) thank God (2) take a deep breath, and then ask God for guidence (before i do anything), for what He intends for me to do with a gift he has entrusted to my stewardship, knowing from the beginning it was never just about me , or my convenience . it was always about Him and others first. that order guarantee's future security peace. (3) after #1 #2, #3 is fairly superfluous, but since my first obligation is fulfilled and complete, i won't be someone sitting on the couch watching the

Respectfully in response , anyone who iwrites like so; si to be commendedfor for dedicated loyalty to the casino industry; I am confident that that they were a profitable house dealers for all past employers. I do enjoy colorful stories shared casino experiences. There is no debate that all properties have certain obligations regarding safety, security, maintaining order preventing thivery/cheating. To help these conditions they are equiped with a private army of armed security which is aided

Harry Reid pushing to legalize online poker for American casinos, horse tracks
Keep your government hands off my government healthcare . People are so naive and stupid these days. They work so hard from young to old without never realizing what is happenening right in front of them. Its called the Status-Quo. If you let someone tell you that its wrong for you to get something you have paid for like unemployment insurance, you are therefore a detriment to society. Republicans are now trying to put Social Security in their back pockets. Its rediculous. Democrats are trying

What happens if a refugee wins a big jackpot??
Amazing how things change. I have my original Social Security card and on it, it says : Not To Be Used For Identification That, by the way, is what the Federal Government promised us. Those numbers would never be used to identify us. And they remain just as trustworthy today as then, if not more.

Lottery bill could limit winner's take
I agree with the sentiment, but the government is so intrusive these days, that the list of what we are allowed to do will soon be very short! I am on Social Security Disability. I spend $2 to $4 a week either Mega Millions or Powerball. This is my only hobby. Should I win; does the government have the right to limit my winnings? Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness - kinda' in the Constitution! We the People! ....... NOT ......... We the Government

If you want to claim jackpot anonymously, how do you sign the back of the ticket?
gonnawinwatchme, If a winning ticket (In California) is valued over $600.00, the winner is required to sign the ticket. He or she is also required to submit the winning ticket by mail or in person, along with a claim form, to have it processed. I don't quite understand the Anonymous portion of your question. The person who wins an amount above $600.00 (again, in California) cannot remain anonymous. He or she will have to submit to an interview, and furnish their name, address, social sec

Buying a house with winnings VS financing.
I would purchase a select parcel of land with the winnings, not to exceed $150,000.00. Next i would build my dream house, complete with above/underground secure living. My home would be 100% self sufficient, generate it's own power, gas well, water well, pump systems, ventilation systems, contained life support systems, etc. I would have a security system on my property that would make the White House Blush. All this for $500,000.00 No need for fancy vehicles, a couple Loaded Jeeps would do. Mod
