Please do the statistics on Indiana for the last 5 draws. Consistently 5%-7% under statiscal average for the number of winning tickets there should be vs. what there actually is. You say they can't be programmed for bias, but you are wrong. There hadn't been a million dollar PB winner in 2 years in Indiana since they switched out the terminals. The new algorithim the machine uses will pick a number 1-10 or even two numbers 1-10 a way higher threshold than what it should be. Humans are very good

I Maintain that the Theory Any Powerball Combo can Win Is BS
I agree that a sequence like 1-2-3-4-5-6 will never be drawn. With math and probability you can prove that it would with say a random number generator. However, Powerball is a ball drawn game which doesn't follow the mathematics of a RNG. If you were to truly look at the possible combinations in Powerball you would have to study the machine that is used to draw them including the timing, the order the balls are dropped, and the behavior of how the balls are mixed. Trying to evaluate something wi

So, the lottery has yet to produce a single Billion Dollar Winner.
Based on the above I would estimate 649,371,766 tickets were sold. The real total could be more or less.
Estimate is based on the odds of 1 in 24.87 for winning a prize.

Question Regarding The Odds of The Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle
To me, the above explanation makes the most sense.
The first four unique eight-digit numbers drawn will be the first-prize-tier winning numbers. A player may win only one time on each ticket. So that means after each one is drawn, it is no longer eligible to win any other prize.
Sure, from a mathematical calculations stand point, 4/500,000 yields the same results as 1/125,000. But, assuming all 500,000 tickets are sold, after the first ticket number has been drawn and is removed from the

Record $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot won by 3 tickets
That is the not the problem or how much was spent, but all the hype and buzz if wanting to win the first billion dollar jackpot. I got used to not winning the regular jackpots long ago but this one was a lot more exciting. I am talking about when the jackpot gets enormous like this one, or several hundred million and everyone on here is posting and exciting about winning it then it ends as is usually does with no one on here winning it. I was disappointed bt not depressed as I said I got used to

I wish that I could have thought of this! Lottery Reeimbursement
Really? I don't have any sympathy for people who don't use their brains. Shame on those people who donated money to an idiot.
The worst part is that she intends to spend the money again on the lottery. Someone needs to to educate her on the odds against her winning and get her back to reality.
Duh !, let me see, i have 200 bucks left to my name, with no food and bills to pay. I know !!!...I'll play the lottery !, yeah, that's the ticket !

Look, with odds like these games, they don't need to do anything to hurt your chances. Because your chances are tiny already.
EXACTLY!!!!
Playing powerball is like playing roulette with the payout for hitting a number being even money and only number bets allowed.

In fact, on average, one out of every 12 million QP tickets sold results in a $1M winner over the long term.
That is true in every state and every city.
Poor little Kansas with only 4.7m tickets sold did better than average on the last drawing with 2 $1m winners.
Let's look at specific Kansas statistic for the last drawing:
They sold 4,676,236 tickets
190,346 of those tickets won money
Total money won from those tickets was $3,274,686
The odds of any ticket wi

There are no optimal or sub optimal combinations. Every single combination has exactly the same 1 in 292 million chance of winning.
The reason you keep losing money is because the house edge is monstrously big. They return 35 cents of every $2 ticket on the non jackpot prizes. The same is true whether you pick your super special numbers or the quick pick random number generator picks your numbers.
The odds of you picking the red ball are 1 in 26 and that is true whether you look for patt

Wild Card
Hey TSC. You've said it very well, the drawbacks of those other games. I keep wanting to study Hot Lotto but the fact that it was rigged a time or two... kind of sticks in my craw... you know. And it's not fair that you or any of us should have to go to another state to play a decent game! With this piece of bad news I feel even more motivation to get moved back to Washington. Ah, 8 years invested in Wild Card, and I love the game as much as I ever did. This really hurts.
I think you heard ab
