you didn t get mate. its about losses and wins not odds. u expect a 5/6 win in a shorter time than winning 6/6. the lotto odds remain the same the cost is the same but you win 5/6 more often than 6/6. with your restraints and playing 20 combos every draw you expect a 6/6 win in over 2000 years, you expect a 5/6 in 10 years. either way you lose money.. if you are the lucky 1 in 240 000 players you can win 6/6 in 10 years but its only 1 lucky guy every quarter mil players. all this stuff is called

Jimbo In any setup the user has the option of using the last 3 lower sliders. Each of these have odds of 1 in 10 as the range is 0 to 9. Setting two of these correctly gives odds of 1 in 100 because there are 100 total combinations. The odds of doing this twice is 1 in 100 * 1 in 100 = 1 in 10K. The number of front lexie sets returned varies based on the matrix used and the two slide settings. If we factor in games like my 5-39 where the odds are 1 in 576, remember the lexie can

Its pretty easy to figure them out and even after adding them up its brutal compared to $20 Gold Rush or $25 WCC. There will be on average 6 - $30 winners plus 3 - $40s along with one $50 and $100 in a full book of 30 tickets. Looks like minimum books payout will be $450/$900 (11 winning tickets on average) which makes sense given the monster top prizes. Really nice odds on the $1000 winners but horrible numbers for the $500 and both $10k and $20k prizes with 60,000:1 odds and WCC has 30:000:1 o

@oldghost - You are correct about the new games. There is an interesting twist to the 20X ($5 game). According to the Emergency Rule, the top prize is $1,000,000 (based on 25 year annuity) instead of the usual $250,000 or $500,000 for a $5 game. The prize comes at the steep odds of 1:2,297,142. I can't speak for anyone else, but part of me would prefer if they made the top prize lower but easier to win. I'm sure the $1M prize is a marketing gimick to advertise the greatest top prize on a $5 tick

Apparently FL Lottery has a new $2 'instant win game' which is bought via the lottery terminal (like Lotto/Powerball etc is). Cornhole Cash (didn't anyone research the alternative meaning of cornhole ?). No real explanation I could find of what happens, how it's played. But prizes up to $10k which has odds of 1 in 360k. Overall odds 1 in 4.14. Of course, GRD $1 has odds of 1 in 451,200 for $10k and is half the price. Makes you wonder why a printed ticket has crappier odds at higher prices wit

Does it make sense to buy Powerball tickets in Brooklyn, NY?
Firstly, it doesn't make sense to buy Powerball tickets anywhere... Basically, one is buying a dream for $2 with a slim chance of winning one's wager back plus maybe a few extra bucks. Where a jackpot was won in the past doesn't matter. However, with the odds are getting worse and worse every matrix change, soon it'll be a wonder anyone wins anywhere. Seems to me, the next Powerball matrix change should just go all the way and make the odds beyond astronomical with 1 in many billions odds.

State lotteries losing revenue to 'jackpot fatigue' and casinos
I'm surprised you've been around as long as you have and yet don't know the difference between the cash jackpot and the annuity jackpot. Where's the $88,700,000.00 million dollars ? LOL. It didn't go anywhere! The cash jackpot amount is the real jackpot. It's the amount that the lottery would need to invest in an annuity to pay the $143,000,000 over the life of the annuity. So if you want payments over 30 years, they invest that 88 million to reach 143 million over 30 years. Most people, me incl

It doesn't really matter what numbers you chose for the Powerball/Mega Millions right?
When l read of folks saying their are patterns to combinations when talking about PB or MM,l honestly don't know what that means. I once read that it's very easy for us humans to imagine odds of 1-50, because if we are in a room with 49 people, we simple take ourselves from the equation and we get the picture, we really do. But when we have odds of 259 million to 1, it's impossible to wrap our minds around that number, why, because we have never seen 259 million people in one spot. We think we c

Mathematics and the Lottery
The great thing about the mega jackpots is nobody can understand the odds. Yet people still play the number. Those odds are easy to figure. It is unlikely that the odds on the mega lotteries are better. A fair bet returns money in the same proportion as the odds of winning. If you match coins, each of you have a 50:50 chance of winning. Winner gets 2, loser gets 0. So if the number were fair, there are 1,000 combinations, so it should pay the winner $1,000. Instead it pays $500. The
