Is mega millions worth playing anymore?
Long Odds, That's an excellent analogy with the ball parks and a raffle. I've always looked at raffles this way, in a lottery game $1 or $2 wins millions, tens of millions, or 100 or hundreds of millions depending on the game and jackpot. In a raffle, like your example of the NY one where a $10 ticket can win $1M, in essence every dollar wins $100,000. Not bad but as far a 'most bang for the buck' that's whoop tee do as compared to lotto jackpots.

New York Lotto...does it have a pulse? Rethinking It...
Even with the rule changes, the NYL looks like a good game overall, and if I lived in NY I would definitely be playing it. I really like the two plays for a dollar. We have a Cash 5 game here in NC that is only one play for a buck, and the jackpot usually doesn't get up to even half a million before somebody hits it. I also like the fact that NYL has only one drawing for all balls, rather than two like Mega Millions and Powerball with their separate draws for the Mega Ball and Powerball. The

Dozens of 'dead people' collected NJ lottery prizes last year
Nearly four dozen New Jersey lottery winners collected their prizes with false Social Security numbers belonging to dead people, according to an audit of the state lottery system. The audit also found that the lottery missed out on recovering $890,000 that winners owed in taxes and other obligations for the fiscal year that ended last June. The report, released Wednesday, said 680 people who won at least $600 presented potentially invalid IDs from July 2013 to July 2014. People are requ

Instant games at the terminal
PA Lottery doesn't have them. But even if it did, I'd be very leery buying them from a clerk. What's to stop the clerk claiming a winning ticket is theirs / refusing to sell it... When does the ticket become the player's property? When requesting the ticket or after paying for it? What if the clerk doesn't accept payment, and keeps the winning ticket... There's little to no oversight over lottery clerks, and very often are allowed to buy tickets too. In short, for anyone buying them, best to

Powerball Matrix Change - April 15, 2015
We just had a record Jackpot and ticket sales in my state supported a Second prize very easily but we got no second prize Now the odds of second prize are getting way worse and the prize is going down...yay. I'll play the new matrix when the cash value goes above 1 billion...not cause I wouldn't take way less but because I have played so long and they just keep making it harder and harder to win. To MUSL I say Blow Me

Instant games at the terminal
In Virginia we have instant games you can play at the terminal. Just Buy your ticket and see if you won, no waiting for draws or waiting at all. But the odds are also awful. Has anyone played those? Do other states have them too?

What denomination would you pick if you were to buy a whole pack of scratch off tickets?
Just because one person got lucky and hit fairly big on a $2 card doesn't mean others will. There are noticeably better odds of winning on $5 and up cards, and the prizes are substantially larger. If I were the OP, I'd go to six different stores and buy 10 of the same $5 card at each location. That's 60 of the same card at a cost of $300.

Check out lottolaughs' new instruction books for LP Search
I so appreciate everyone's kind words and comments, thank you!! Inside these books are a dedication to all of you and Todd here at the Lottery Post :) Just my contribution to lottery players everywhere to help you keep breaking down those odds! The Search Drawings Tool is one of the most beneficial and under-used feature (in my opinion) on the LP. I'm hoping more people might be inspired to use it if they had an illustrated step by step book. I'm asked all the time for numbers and thought,
