MM and PB jackpot increases.
Enough of the badgering. Why all the constant harping on people making economic decisions? If people don't want to throw away their money on bad bets, they're not going to. When PB gets to $600 million, a $5 bet will get them two chances to win the jackpot, one chance to win $1 million, and one chance to win $2 million (except in California). That is a better value, and the ticket sales reflect that.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
The Mega Millions jackpot has increased by only $23 million to $520 million after 27 consecutive rolls and is the largest Mega Millions jackpot since December 2024. The 27 roll record for Mega Millions is $820 million, which by the way, is larger than the Powerball 27 roll record of $748.3 million. There is only a 2.6% chance the jackpot will be won in the October 3 draw. Given the relatively slow sales for Mega Millions, there is a good chance it will break the record number of 36 consecuti

Montana Lottery aims to prohibit bulk purchases after group takes gamble on $1.6 million jackpot
The buyer's address is in London, England. The store was not in Madison, MT as the story says, rather it was in Ennis, MT as there is no Madison, MT. My daughter lives in Ennis, MT and reports that the retailer is not a gas station, bar, supermarket so not like any other lotto retailer in Montana, but just a building with no other business. It is a front set up precisely to facilitate this nonsense. The company that owns this store has a phone app to buy lottery lottery tickets. Who

$1.8 billion Powerball jackpot to be split by two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas
Right now the $164.5 million cash value of MM is 45.95% of the $358 million annuity. With the annuity at 35.8% of 1 billion the cash value at the same interest rate has to be $164.5 / .358 for a $1 billion annuity. That's $459.5 million. Flipping it around, it will take a hair under 2.8 times as much money for 1 billion as for 358 million. Total sales through Saturday are forecast to be $609,162,600 and 121,832,520 tickets. 2.8 time that is 340,314,302 tickets (and total revenue of just over

North Carolina lottery winners of $5 million and more could remain anonymous
It actually tends to have the opposite effect. Virginia moved to anonymity years ago for wins of over $10 million years ago and had increasing online sales. They had banner years and then moved to lower the anonymity to wins of $1 million and over. The biggest threat to the integrity of the lottery are lottery clerks and lottery employees.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
So it appears sales are high enough to support a jackpot of $1.155 billion. But no one with a high enough authority is working today to send a message to all jurisdictions to change the Powerball jackpot estimate to $1.155 billion.

Powerball reaches $643 million: highest lottery jackpot of 2025
Maybe another billion is coming! There roughly a 1 in 3 chance it will roll past $1 billion (to perhaps $1.1 billion). If sales are a bit better and it gets there one drawing sooner there's about a 40% chance it could just barely get past $1 billion. I could scrape by with it, but the cash value at an even billion is only $451 million, assuming interest rates don't change.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Lets see if the MSUL gets the hint in another 7 months...... Here is my proposal for improved lottery sales.....Have a 3rd option.......... Start a new $1 game, make the odds 1/305 million for the jackpot( smidge more than the old MM odds).....Test it out for a year. See how things go. That way, they surely will know what is a success and what is a failure. Just food for thought

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Back in March of this year, the Powerball jackpot was $527 million while the Mega Millions jackpot was only $29 million. The Powerball jackpot was over 18 times larger than Mega Millions. Sales for Mega Millions were not zero. In fact, they were large enough for the jackpot to increase to $43 million in the next draw. The point is, regardless of the ticket price or jackpot size, players like buying tickets for both games.

Oregon Lottery proposes rules regulating courier services and preventing bulk ticket purchases
Link to 50,000 AZ lottery ticket limit (per 24 hours per game) didn't work. Outlawing international ticket sales is stupid.
