Instant vending machines
I didn't know there were scratch ticket vending machines until visiting New York several years ago. Here in Louisiana, we don't have lottery vending machines, we have to go to the cashier for them at Circle K.I honestly don't believe your chances are necessarily better with a vending machine or bought from a human. It all depends on the odds of the game in question.

Self-service machines coming for Texas Lottery games
lottery vending machines sound great. no more hassles with cards at the counter and trying to explain to the new clerk at the convenience store what 'powerplay or advance draw' means.just the other day i asked for 5 megabucks tickets and it wasn't till i got into the car that i noticed i'd been sold 5 powerball tickets instead. i kept them anyway. i'd love to use a lottery vending machine as long as it also offers 'my-pick' option as the article says they plan to do :)

Scratchers probability puzzle
There's a broken lottery vending machine that sells only $1 scratchers. If you put in $1, it will randomly give you either one, three, or five scratchers with equal probability. You can't put in more than $1 at a time. Someone plays at the machine for a while and stops when they have exactly $10 worth of scratchers. What is the probability they put in only $4?

California woman chooses wrong lottery ticket because of "rude" person, wins $10 million
Wow. I've been to that EXACT store when I lived there. Congratulations to her. I remember being at a grocery store vending machine and I put my money in and a man was trying to make conversation asking me which scratcher I was going to play and as he was pointing he accidentally pressed the button. It was MY money but we laughed and he put another $10 in the machine to reimburse me. He was embarrassed and walked away. I don't know if he won off that ticket or not. Lol

Proprietary PDF417 Barcodes?
I am curious to know what sort of proprietary barcodes are used on the bardoces underneath the latex on LA state scratch off tickets. This barcode is readable via any barcode scanning app, and I've discovered it's a string containing the numbers on the back, save for the last 3 in parentheses, plus the number underneath the latex. However, when I try to generate them and compare to a scratched ticket, they differ slightly. I'm just curious as to how my app can read the barcode, but batch generat

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Hello fitbabe, Welcome to the forum. Here are answers to your questions. 1. Yes. You can buy tickets at the lottery headquarters and district offices. 2. I have not noticed any real difference in buying tickets from the vending machine vs the counter. Go for whichever has a shorter line. The only noticeable difference is that the tickets in the machine are filled faster because of greater foot traffic. That usually means that the book/roll number is higher for the vending machine rath

Generating Play Slips
The vending machine was out of order today so I had to present these all white slips to a cashier. She gave me a funny look, but after I showed her which way they needed to go into the machine she processed my picks without any questions. As of now, all of my stockpiles of slips are going into the garbage. This is also so much easier. Now when I travel I can just use the black and white printer in the hotel business center and a pair of scissors to generate my slips.

Post your scratch ticket results
Yesterday I bought a $20 Mad Money ticket which hit for $100 out of a vending machine. I also got a $5 ticket that lost, and bought a $20 Instant Million ticket that lost as well from the same vending machine. Today I decided to try two of the $30 extreme green tickets and two of the $20 Instant Million tickets from the counter instead of the machine. All 4 tickets were duds... $0 out of $100.... that's pretty crappy. I'm expecting a pretty decent bonus from my second job

Scratch offs thrown in the trash...
Lol. Glad i am not the only trash picker. I dont think that a lot of store customers know what i am doing. I find way more torn up tickets. Some i can piece together. I cannot imagine how many are winners. I bought a ticket and since it was a word one i just scratched the scan code and it said it was a non winner. So when itried to enter it second chance it would not go in. So it turned out to be a 10.00 winner. Now I know never to trust those vending machine scanners or any scanners. So many pe
