$HALF-BILLION! Powerball raised again on monster sales
I don't wish for 5 winners at $40 million, but I would for 5 winners at $400 million. I just like the idea of having more winners rather than larger jackpots. Those 5 winners at $400 million would also have a lot more money per person than if they all won at the same time for a $40 million jackpot. In fact, I'd be happy if odds were made better for players and jackpots never went over $40 million. Not really sure why it matters what someone's opinion on the matter is. Neither one is right or

Wisconsin MegaBucks $$
Thanks Nikkicute! I have never played Pick3 or Pick4 before... I am working my way down there though, lol! I started out playing Powerball, but then never winning anything decided to move down to games with (slightly) better odds. So I have been working Megabucks the last few months but once this jackpot hits I think I'm moving over to Badger 5. After a while of nothing on Badger 5 I will probably end up trying Pick 4. pickone4me... I am not going to complain about the Milwaukee area wi

$HALF-BILLION! Powerball raised again on monster sales
By Todd Northrop Less than 24 hours after lottery officials were forced to raise the Wednesday Powerball jackpot estimate, they have done it again now to $500 million. The current jackpot is the third-largest in Powerball history and the fifth-largest jackpot of any lottery game in U.S. history. It is only the fifth time in history that lottery players have been able to play for a half-billion dollars. It could all go to one person. The new estimated lump-sum cash value of the jackpo

$485 MILLION: Powerball jackpot raised
Big sales volume prompts early jackpot increase By Todd Northrop Due to larger than expected sales volume, the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) has raised the official Powerball lottery jackpot estimate for Wednesday's drawing to $485 million. The all-important lump-sum cash value of the jackpot has been raised to $327.7 million still the 5th-largest cash jackpot ever offered in a United States lottery. Lottery players seeking to check the winning numbers Wednesday night are ur

Do you win more with draw tickets or scratchers?
shyguitar, The odds of winning anything at all are far better on scratchers than draw games. In Illinois scratchers are 59% of lottery sales.

Key Charts by SQL-MAN February 2015
Combination 347, in the above chart under column D, fell as 734 this evening. Congratulations on your win if you played all 55 combinations! Observations: The table on the far right shows that combinations containing the digit four usually have a high odds sum just as combination 734 did tonight. Another thing to consider with combination 734 is that pairs 34 and 47 are high frequency pairs. Although I highlighted combination 347 in red, I didn't anticipate a repeating sum this eve

I need help calculating my odds
I'm wondering if they can even be combined, since they're separate games. If they can be combined, what are my combined odds, is it 1 in 11,000 or 2 in 11,000? If it's 2 in 11,000 since I have two tickets, is that the same as 1 in 5,500?

Wow! $450 Million Dreams!
I've sat out recent drawings too. As a matter of fact, I've sat out all past drawings. Told myself I wouldn't play or even practice working on games like Powerball in earnest, until after I finished working on strategies for the smaller games. But just as you may be compelled to play, I think I may jump in too. I have 4 days to experiment with a couple of ideas, lol. Since the odds of winning are low, I think I'll do the opposite and look to play the evens , beginning by keeping numbers in draw

Wow! $450 Million Dreams!
$300 Million Dreams... The annuity value, while a great marketing gimmick that misleads many, is meaningless. The estimated cash value is around $300 million. After taxes, it's drops to around $180 million or even less depending on the winner's state. Still a bundle, but nowhere near $450 million. I've sat out the recent drawings, but may buy a ticket or two for the next one, and definitely for the one after that, if it rolls again ... at that point, for me, it's worth playing - even though t

$380 MILLION: Massive sales push Powerball jackpot higher
I love road trips. It wasn't the last leg of the journey that excited me but the stops along the way and definitely the views. When it's won, LP goes into quiet mode. Very few people log in or post as the hype is over. Reality settles in that this game is insanely hard to win. Right now we don't see the odds. We see the prize. The bigger the prize the bigger our dreams. I guess you like your bad news upfront and early. That's fine. Look at it this way. You will lose tonight. I promise. So don't
