What are some ways to Increase my odds of winning the Powerball?
California payouts for lower tier prizes are also para-mutuel. On an aside, that can lead to some lopsided payouts, such as a winner matching 5 (2nd place) getting well under $1 million or, conversely, as happened back on Aug-9th, one lucky winner getting over $7 million for matching 5 on a $2 ticket; CA has no Powerplay option.
With all that said, I'm not sure how the other poster won $5, since that was not a prize amount, and no combination of payouts would add up to that. But anyways, winn

Monopoly Millionaires game
Well given their vendor contract, I suspect they are largely stuck with the current format.
The only benefit of nobody being aware of the game is that the TV show might be the first many people hear about it. Therefore, they may get an initial boost of sales when it re-launches. But I expect the sales will drop again when the novelty wears off and people realize how bad the odds really are for the prizes.
In any event, keep us posted since we cannot rely on the state lotteries or the MMC

Powerball Matrix Change - April 15, 2015
Texas has to go thru a comment period before the commissioners can vote to approve the changes, merely procedural. They have to approve the changes if Texas is to keep PB.
PB sales are WAY down in Texas, and I would imagine sales are down in many, if not all the other states. Actually, sales are down in just about all the draw games in Texas. Scratch off sales are up. I read in the meeting minutes that scratch offs account for 76% of lottery sales in Texas now. Thing is, I think scratch offs

Powerball Matrix Change - April 15, 2015
Interesting. A fixed cash prize of say $10 million, while lousy given the 1 in ~286 million odds, is still a lot of money. A strictly variable prize, as is alluded to in the Texas rules, could be far worse depending on how it's calculated. On a related note, what about California? ... or will they be opting out due to their inflexible state law requiring lottery prizes to be para-mutuel.
As for no roll-overs, secondary reasons could be to avoid a situation in which the Power Plus 5+1 prize ge

PA Raffle Countdown to 500,000 ...
Adding something like 20 $50K prizes would be interesting, but would have little effect on the overall odds, which is currently 1 in ~83. Get that number down to under 1 in 20, and many more will win, and thus play it again in the future.
Alternatively, the lottery could try going the other way. Eliminate most all the smaller prizes, and just offer big ones ... say a bunch of $50K prizes and up. And, if feeling bold, go one step further by charging $50 per ticket - I'd buy one or two for sure

PA Raffle Countdown to 500,000 ...
I was over in Connecticut last Saturday,,, I had to go over there to pick something up. I couldn't resist the temptation of buying another SuperDraw ticket, so I bought one. Actually, it was more curiosity than temptation. I wanted to see how they were selling. I was pleasantly shocked to see that my ticket number was in the 65,000's.
With only 9 days to go, I cant see them selling 110,000 more of them. I doubt they're going to sell out.
Glad to see PA's aren't further along than they are

Can lottery random be predicted?
The right numbers can't be predicted, but any information that can tell you what probably won't happen can be used to your benefit. This is why my system uses elimination. What do I mean by elimination? Well, basically taking information from past drawings to determine what most likely won't happen on the next. The computer program that I wrote is basically a quick pick generator with some tests(filters) thrown in. It picks a set of numbers at random, it runs that set of numbers against some fil

Will you play Powerball more often before the Matrix change in 2015?
I am as likely to play the PowerBall after the matrix change as Charlie Brown is as likely to kick that football.
I play it now with the powerplier because of the odds of winning second prize and the $2,000,000 second prize.
I'm quitting after the Matrix change.
They'd of done better with a price change or a bigaplier/smallaplier option.

Will you play Powerball more often before the Matrix change in 2015?
This is probably true for players who have a propensity to overspend or need to get in on the action.
Me, I've only bought 1 Mega Millions ticket this whole year and haven't played Powerball at all. I think for me it was more exciting to play because I hadn't been participating all year. So there was more anticipation for the draw that I did play in. This didn't change how much I spent though, because I was already well aware of the odds even with multiple tickets. Mathematically it is bette

Will you play Powerball more often before the Matrix change in 2015?
Ditto. After the price doubling to $2, I cut back on Powerball and rarely play. Was never a big PB player, but used to play some tickets most drawings. Now, at $2+1 (I always add powerplay), it's not worth the measly payouts one can most likely expect. The proposed changes look to bulk-up the very low tier prizes, but with too much of a tradeoff in complexity and even worse odds. Powerball is currently a relatively decent value for hitting 2nd place, which many players also aim for.
A better
