Are people changing the way they play the lottery?
I started out Pick3, then switched to scratch-offs. Doesn't make sense to play a 50% payout game when there are 60-70%+ games for the same price. Now I play almost exclusively $20 games (whatever has the best odds, really), but occasionally I will play a draw game if the jackpot has rolled close to the top percentile. Location, meh, I don't think it matters much but I will vary my play if I think a pack at one store has all the good winners gone. I definitely haven't played as much this ye

Kentucky Lottery keeps an eye on frequent winners
Lotteries have been monitoring repeat winners for as long as I remember. Not just for security but also out of curiosity, as Chip says, data mining. They can even tell when the big players play because sales will spike at certain locations in short periods of time. If someone wins frequently at a particular store and this correlates to sales at the time of the purchase, the lottery can determine how much that player is spending and how often they play. Based on the $20K estimate, Kevin ha

Ya know how I'm always tellin' ya to go over to Connecticut and get yourself some SuperDraw raffle tickets? I aint doin' that no more! Now it 's Pennsylvania's Millionaire Raffle. It makes SuperDraw look sick. Me and The Boy's at work ditched SuperDraw and we jumped on PA's Millionaire Raffle. FOUR top prize winners of a cool mill, lots of second and third place prizes (a helluva lot more than SuperDraw even dreamed of) and best of all, odds are 125,000 to 1 compared to SuperDraw's 275,000

Someone just lost out on $130 million.
It doesn't get any more pathetic and Ironic as this...lol Those events happen quite often, and it's such a shame. Talk about being in the top 5 group of worst luck of ALL time. Now what are the odds of that happening?

Do you or Have You Ever Played 1 2 3 4 5?
Amazing to read it's happened twice. And the RoadRunner Cash 5/37 game is 3X more difficult to win than PA Treasure Hunt 5/30 game. However, on a related topic, the RoadRunner cash winners fared far better winning $~3850 (~14% each) splitting a $27000 jackpot verses the 242 PA Cash 5 jackpot winners who played 5-10-15-20-25 splitting a $100,000+ jackpot to win a paltry $439 (less than 0.5% each)... To hit a jackpot of $439 on a game with odds of 575,000 (back then it was a 5/39 game) is a

Why any good Pick 3 system, method, or tool will ,almost, certainly fail
Such broad general statements don't interest anyone. We all know the problems with the game and it's odds already. So, what we need are very specific numbers. Numbers to actually prove what ever you are trying to say. Just words don't cut it. This is a numbers game. Showing is better than saying. Many here have shown results which are proved out with examples. Most always what they show in one form or the other use images of some kind. Specific results in math form is the best. Otherwise, an

UK lottery winner says he's happier now that the money's gone
I would be scared to death to win the Mega Millions or PowerBall, though I do buy a ticket of each. I've read many places that at such high odds buying more than one ticket does you no good! I tell myself I would avoid buying ridiculous things like planes and giraffes but I know I'd have to spent a fortune to get a gated estate with security and other measures to protect my family...people would want to home invade or grab your kids and crazy crap like that. But you never know what changes yo
