Illinois to fire private lottery operator
It would be nice if we had a choice in that advertising (aka anonymous).
Its all about making more money and since most people don't pay attention to the odds (arguably), the state/private corps will continue to squeeze the player anyway they can.
Look at the profits on scratchers... the ultimate cash cow for state lotteries... those games have a huge advantage for the house .
Even the most shady casino corps would blush at that sort of game and its legal too.

Should we boycott Mega Millions?
I'm beginning to wonder if we should boycott Mega Millions. They promised huge jackpots with the new matrix, but the jackpots have been anaything but huge. It can never seem to get above $200 million. A new, HARD matrix needs to be put in place because it's way too easy for some to win still. Odds need to be at least 1 in 500 trillion.
Also, the game is rigged to let California win most of the time. California needs to be kicked out of all MUSL games, or have their winnings taxed at a 95% rat

Illinois to fire private lottery operator
IMO whenever a private company takes over a lottery they always promise increased revenue as the selling point. How does increased revenue happen? Obviously, it is either by selling more tickets, or by paying out less to winners, or a combination of both. But to do that, they have to change the odds, IE. make the games harder to win. And at the same time attract new players. Tough to do both at the same. But if they try to screw the players too much, they will bail out in a hurry.
Unfortunate

Poll: What is your favorite lottery game?
Numbers games (except Georgia Five because of their prize payout scheme)
I like the numbers games because
the prize payouts for most of the numbers games are 50% of the odds. Powerball, Mega Millions, and Georgia Five basically rob lower-tier winners. birthdays and years can be winning numbers. For the 3-ball, if a date requires four numbers, I will say, for example, 365 is Pick-3 for December 31 because it is the 365th day of the year. My birth year cannot win Powerball, because there is

If a young person won a HUGE pot how would you feel?
I started playing the lottery when I turned 18, and I know the last thing on my mind were Olympic swimming pools or mansions. I was more looking forward to launching companies, making a difference in the world, and being able to retire at an early age.
Generally people throw a fit when anybody but them wins, but it seems to me that they do it the most when the winner is either very young or very old. To me there is no such thing as deserving a jackpot win, I don't care how charitable, poor, o

Poll: New National Game October 19th - Will You Play?
Just wanted to update everyone and say that I have seen a copy of the final rules.
There were only a couple of changes, none affecting the matrix or how the game is played.
Namely, they will no longer refer to the jackpot as a jackpot, but rather top prize. No idea why, other than perhaps distancing from PB/MM due to the capped nature of the prize. The Club prizes will drop the Monopoly moniker (probably a trademark issue) and just be called Millionaires' Club prizes. Now there will techni

$160 MILLION: largest Mega Millions jackpot in 5 months
Because the odds are 1 in 258.9 million, that's how! I do play, just not often. I would rather play something I have better chances of achieving in my lifetime.
If the game looked for the least played set of numbers, then those who play the least played set of numbers would win more often than those who do not. And the stats show that this is not the case. Though technically, the winning set of numbers in any given draw will inherently be the least played in that particular drawing...either p
