New report criticizes Iowa Lottery security
The only problem that I ever had with the Iowa Lottery was with one of their retailers.I bought a $3 scratch off ticket from one of those machines and the machine took my money.Nobody at the retailer had the key to the machine so they couldn't open it up and retrieve my ticket for me and they refused to refund my money. When I got home I sent an email to the Iowa Lottery and complained about the retailers attitude. The Iowa Lottery sent me $3 worth of Lotto Bucks that could be redeemed at any Iowa

If you claim Big Win Anonymously Do you sign ticket or not...
IIRC, if you want a Trust that you've set up to at least try to keep your name out of the press release and the media the ticket needs to have the name of the Trust on the back to claim it. I disagree, it can be easy to prove who owns a ticket if you either lose it and someone else claims it or if it's stolen from you, it's not too hard to make a photo copy (or several, maybe take a video/photo as well) while placing the original in a safe and secure location, not good for claiming but goo

Videos on youtube
Just a little update on what is going to happen... I am going to put the videos back on youtube.. It will take some time due to the fact that I was robbed on Wednesday April 1st.. I got home from work and someone/someones had broken into my home and stole a bunch of my valuables including my laptop, digital camcorder ( which i used the make the videos with ) my xbox360 and the list goes on.. So now I have to wait for the lnsurance claim to be processed, which could take ( who knows how long )

Taking lotto slips is a criminal act?
Unless you were taking the last 10 slips for that game in the store, then the guy might make a case for not wanting to disappoint his other customers. Though the threat to call the cops was certainly over the top, wonder if he had a gun under the counter as well. Call the lottery and report the store, let lottery security know one of their agents is doing his job a little too well. BobP

Should lottery retailers have money on hand to pay winners with?
I can see how it's upsetting, but I agree diamondpalace, that next time you have to cash in a bigger prize, you should call ahead to see if they have money available. I think most stores don't keep that much cash on hand because of security issues. Also, I wonder how much money they would have to keep on hand and for how many winners? One winner, two, ten? That would be a lot of money to keep on the premise. I haven't won anything as large as $500 yet, but maybe try a larger chain store. They

Lottery win bad news for gas station employees
I don't think this owner has anything to worry about concerning fall out from firing those employees...if anything, it would have more to do with the petroleum products he sells. Also, by and large, convenience store employees are unloyal...sure most convenience stores have security cameras to thwart or catch any robbers and thieves...but they also install those cameras to catch employee theft as well. Let's give this thread a break...on the lottery playslip rules, it says a bonus will be pa
