Lottery Results Gadget Problem
It also could be a browser problem. The gadgets use IE7 to render, so if you've done anything different to IE7, like change config or install plugin(s), it could afect the gadgets. Be sure you have not disabled Active Scripting (JavaScript). Also make sure that the native XMLHTTP support is enabled and security settings are not set too high.
There are Reset/Default buttons in most of the IE7 options panels, so you can try using those.

Countdown to Powerball in Florida
I don't want to be pessimistic and say I'll never win the jackpot, but considering the higher odds of winning it, I would be satisfied with the $1 million prize.
So, my lottery resolution for 2009 is to spend less money on POWERBALL, purchasing one or two tickets, instead of my five tickets (with Power PLAY), and concentrating my winning efforts toward Hot Lotto's first prize of $1 million.
Finally, each player's household budget differs: some players need that major jackpot to sustain the

Braking the law
The California State Lottery Act didn't say much about legal ramification of cheating but I do like that they specified the monies from the sale of Lottery with being ADDED to the Education fund not used as a substitution for money already in place ( AS I have heard other states have done, Now how trued that is is anyones guess- but its nice to see that they said it.
Anyway I found this on the CA Regulations
All draw devices must comply with the specifications approved by the Director t

Braking the law
I'm fairly sure that it would be considered fraud for them to do that and probably a host of other things too. Not to mention the PR nightmare it would cause and probably killing the lottery in that state for a good amount of time from the money lost in class-action lawsuits to people completely losing trust in it. I'm sure those involved go to prison, probably some minimum security country club . Look at the RNG fiasco in Tennessee and how it's has hurt sales (we all know the Lottery Director/P

What to do with $500,000?
Yes, GamerMom, there is a 20 year annuity, but not on the Raffle. Some of the scratch-offs in Florida give you the option of a 20 year pay-out or a lump sum like the For Life tickets. Also, the FL MegaMoney game is a 20 year annuity or lump sum but, as I already wrote, at 77% or better (which it's been lately) I'd always take the cash. Take the money and run....(great Woody Allen movie!)

Woman scammed out of $400,000 pursuing lottery-sized fortune
I receive everyday emails about long lost relatives and people who have been killed in an accidents with no living relatives. I have received emails with links to legitamate news stories about no surviving relatives. On several occasions I have received emails from President Bush, the Director of the FBI and from the Prince of Saudi Arabi. They all have asked for either money, bank account information, social security number and address. Immediately, these emails are deleted because I know that

How online gamblers unmasked cheaters
I think you may be right, Captain.
Politicians have been trying to figure out a way to make money off the Internet for a while.
However, with the financial meltdown national security stuff going on, I think this would have to be part of a larger package to get any oxygen for the foreseeable future. There are a lot of people who will fight internet regulation (even though that leaves it open to the kind of stuff written about in the underlying article)

Weak bond market lowers lottery annuity jackpots
I would park it in a diversified portfolio of mutual funds to include a portion in a money market fund...safe...yes; in a position to capitalize on market upswing and rebound...definitely; the last place I would park the ENTIRE amount is in some CD or savings account...safe...yes; in a position to keep up with inflation...NO (and yes, even inflation bites at those who are wealthy and rich).
And for those BO-S's out there (oh, that stands for Barack Obama supporters), all I have to say is we c
