Ontario lottery winners: remember when you bought the ticket ... or else
Also some new security they made recently because of this mess. All tickets must be signed before the machine can check them - the retailers start paying fines, which get hefty if it occurs often. I think the scanner also checks for a signature and if it doesn't have one it sends info back to main office. The display terminals now more loudly and with bigger type fonts show your winnings - but to me it's still not loud enough!!

Ontario lottery winners: remember when you bought the ticket ... or else
They could refuse payment, because a bearer bond doesn't mean what most people think it means, but they aren't refusing payment. The delay is a result of their new rules because of insiders winning too many prizes. There's an article with more info here: http://www.canada.com/windsorstar/news/story.html?id=05c5068b-bb69-4f8f-8298-4915eb0ea20f @ scarychick: Some lotteries print the time on the ticket and some don't. I can't figure why any of them do, other than complete stupidity. The lotte

Human error caused expensive Va. Lottery mistake
Last year, a New Mexico man filed suit against the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque after he was told his winning pull on a slot machine was a malfunction and he would not be awarded the nearly $1.6 million prize. Also last year, a Pennsylvania man said he was denied the $102,000 that he won off a slot machine at the Philadelphia Park Casino after security officials told him the jackpot was caused by a flawed test the casino was running. I don't remember reading about these, bu

A Federal Gaming Commission
Nope not at all. Looks like we don't need the FDA either with all the meds they pass that cause more side effects than the symptoms that you had 2 start with. C the lottery is like a box of chocolates you never know what there going to pull so with that being said good luck 2 all the lotto players who play strictly by chance bcuz even with a Federal Lottery Commission playing Big Brother for those who don't do there homework they are going to continue to keep getting treated like a step-child.

A Federal Gaming Commission
Some public records like drivers licences are covered under the full faith and credit clause in Article IV of the U.S. Constitution; for instance a valid New York drivers license allows New York residences to legally drive in California. State licenses like hunting or fishing are not covered under Article IV because they are designed to do specific things within that state. A New York hunting or fishing license is not valid in California but a New Yorker can purchase a license in California to h

N.Y. lottery winner and tenant fight thief
Homeowner to invest in security system, cameras after harrowing incident Police nab pellet-pistol-packing suspect Just because he won $10 million in the lottery, Gary Owens said, that doesn't mean he's got a house full of cash. Owens suspects a gun-bearing would-be thief who forced his way into Owens' home at 3:30 a.m. Friday thought he was going to claim a share of the jackpot. A man came to his door saying his name was Tony and he was there to repay $1,500 Owens had allowed him to

Judge rules Washington lottery winners can't be anonymous
These jackpot winners act like they are the only rich people in America. Thousands (or more) people in the U.S. are multi-millionaires and while they may face certain unique problems from people wanting a piece of their fortune, they manage to do just fine in their lives. Heck, I would think these people would send their kids to private schools now anyway. Plus they can hire all the extra security they want. Don't play the lottery if you don't want a little temporary publicity!

Curse of the lottery
This is my first time, I usually see HOW THE LOTTERY CHANGED MY LIFE ! It makes no sense how a millionaire businessman like jack, did foolish things with the windfall. I wonder if he has any money left after all the civil suits and his wife splitting on him? This gets on my nerves, idiots like this always screw it all up, the money doesn't last when you spend lavishly, with no positive cashflow. Why can't one of us knowledgebale LP members win. I think it's all a curse to teach those who d

The 700 Billion dollar Bailout Vs. The Global Lottery: Something don't add up
A lot doesn't add up to the bail out. Executives ending up with large bonuses. The head of the Treasury saving the company he left only two years ago (Goldman Sachs). Both political parties are to blame in this one yet only one seems to get blamed in the press. The biggest problem is giving loans to people who don't have the money to pay them off in the name of being fair . Once you stop caring about basics like that it all goes down hill. There really isn't enough money in any lottery t
