CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
Good luck in your quest to take down the $20 Scratcher! Look forward to seeing some good wins posted here.
For me, it's a little too pricey to be my primary game. I'd have to be prepared to buy 3-6 at a time for this game, and I don't normally plop down $100 a session, so I'll stick with $5 and $10 mostly.
Went looking for some this morning, didn't find any. They sent out the reminder email yesterday about today being the big day...FAIL! No Show.
I see they have the website updated with

Beware Of The Halloween Millions (Millionaire) Raffle!
The wording is so complicated it's difficult to determine what the prize pool will be or the odds. From what I read on the Ohio Lottery site, two $1 million prizes will be awarded after the first $4.6 million in total sales and then additional $1 million prizes will be added for every $2 million in sales thereafter. If they get $14.6 million in ticket sales, there should be seven $1 million prize winners. If one of the states has no $1 million prize winner, a ticket will be selected from that st

Illinois Lottery kicks off new 'Hit or Miss' game
Coin,
When AON came out I researched it so I knew what the game was about. I guess there are a lot of people out there that don't bother and it would be easy to think you can't lose on that game.
As to Pick 5, that is pretty tricky. But they count on people not thinking about the odds and payouts. Again, trying to add on $1 is how today's lottery commissions are hoping to make more money.

One ticket wins $400 million Powerball jackpot
I NEVER said CA won Powerball, I'm aware that they haven't won PB yet. I'm talking in general with big lotteries, these states are the main ones that are always winning.
And I do play before these jackpots get big, but I'm going to start to cut back because I've looked at this years pile of tickets and I've probably spent around $1400+ worth of tickets so far and won less than $200 in return. It's only smart to play when the jackpot is HIGH to reduce shelling out $$ ur'll end up losing anyway

BOHICA* Illinois, another twist from Northstar coming
Actually, the executive directors meet at a convention each year and share ideas. That's why we're seeing more states doing the same thing. More draws pr day, and higher ticket prices.
The AON/HOM game started in Ireland some years ago, but didn't survive for some reason. I like to play it 2 or 3 times a week. But there's no way I'll play it 24 times a week. I do have to say it has very good overall odds of winning at least your $2 back. But, it's still hard to win a jackpot. There hasn't bee

Post your scratch ticket results
Yes, luck is the #1 factor in coming out ahead. For the smaller prizes in a particular scratch off game with a guaranteed minimum per roll, each successive losing ticket in a roll does increase the chance of winning one of the smaller prizes (free ticket, price of the ticket, price of the ticket times 2, etc).
For the larger prizes that are sprinkled among hundreds or thousands of rolls, each successive losing ticket improves the odds only very slightly.
There was one guy buying a to

Opinion: Would you rather see more than one jp winner when its over $300 mil plus?
On one of the Ohio lotto games before Super Lotto Plus some players won larger jackpots by winning the start-up jackpot because of all the splits in the higher jackpots. I believe one drawing even had 15 jackpot winners. The new trend in the lotteries seems to be adding new games instead of replacing the worn out games. When the OCL was over $30 million, on paper it looked like the time to play, but considering all the roll-overs since then, it still might be the right time to play.

Opinion: Would you rather see more than one jp winner when its over $300 mil plus?
It's the odds of the games that limits the amount of jackpot winning tickets unless widely played combos are drawn. Years ago in the Ohio Lotto, it was common to see multiple jackpot winners and how much each player won depended on how many. Either game could put a limit on the jackpot size and roll down the excess to secondary prizes. Eventually they will draw a widely played combo and then those players can complain when their share was diluted.
In California the amount of the 5 + 0 prize d

how did you play to get big winners?
I usually only buy one ticket at a time. All my big wins except one were off a single ticket; once I was a little intoxicated at a gas station buying tickets and there were 3 GRT left and I said eff it. hit $20, $500, $20. *edit* I also wait till im at my destination to scratch. No need to rush things.
But like I said, I perfer one at a time. If im gonna start dropping cash im going to drive to the casino where my odds are better imo.

how did you play to get big winners?
i think i will stick to just spending $20 at once a few times a week. so if it's a $5 ticket i'll buy 4 of the same or if it's a $10 ticket i'll buy 2 tickets. i have a hard time buying just one $20 ticket with the thought of the next one or two being the winner though. although i feel that if i won big off a $20 ticket it would be a one and done...
another question, do you guys stick to the same game, or do you have a few favorites that you play, or does it completely depend on the mome
