Mich Fantasy Five perspective
December 31st of this year will be the 3378th drawing of Michigan Fantasy Five since it started.
Why does that matter? Well, the odds of winning $100 on MI FF are 1 in 3378. If you have numbers that you have bet on since the beginning and they don't win $100 by the end of this year then maybe they aren't your lucky numbers.
Oh and BTW, why do I bring this up? Of course my numbers have not hit for $100 yet.
Anyone else having the same luck?

Mega Millions lottery game's redesign aims at bigger jackpots, better overall odds
Littleoldlady said: I don't play PB anymore. I did an experiment and got burnt pretty good. I bought 100 PB tickets with the bonus and won basically nothing. I did this three times in a row when the jackpot was really big. Got three numbers 1 time.
omg. ouch. Herein lies the reason why we seldom played the multistate games - the longshot odds of winning.
Reminds us of our neighbor's son who works as a trainer for a professional sports team. A team player recently spent $10K on quick picks

Mega Millions lottery game's redesign aims at bigger jackpots, better overall odds
Inspite of the higher odds I don't expect many jackpots of a billion dollars or more. With its $1 price for one line the new matrix will attract players who would pay $1 for a chance in a pick5 game with a jackpot of $100K and players who don't want to pay $2 for a chance to win a multi-million dollars jackpot which should help it exceed the sales amounts of PB.
If there are many billion dollars plus jackpots, look for MM to do what PB did when it thought a half billion dollar jackpot was lar

Mega Millions lottery game's redesign aims at bigger jackpots, better overall odds
Despite these unrealistic odds, when the jackpot equals the national debt because no one has hit it, and then I DO, I am going to continue to work! Life will not change because of having 16 trillion dollars. oh, and also I'll go to Disney... and get a new car... house, can't forget a new house. I like those infinity pools, but think it needs to be on an ocean front... I always wanted to be a world wide traveler... I might cut down work to 6 hours a day. Did I mention buying gold. I should buy a

You can still win a jackpot with the new matrix while losing less per play.
Right now they expect to pay out 50 cents for every dollar that take in. With the new matrix they'll expect to pay out 50 cents for every dollar they take in. Don't be fooled just because your odds of winning the minimum prize will be better. There's no such thing as a free lunch.
With the current game when they collect $175 million they pay $87.5 million back to the winners. With the new game they'll collect $25

Suppose I told you...
Do I detect a little sarcasm here?
Of course, but it's directed more toward the few who say LP members suffer from innumeracy and are trying to convince us mathematicians say we can never win playing lottery games. BA was clear on their objective and that is to point players in the right direction and I believe BA is using sound math to do that.
You might get a hit betting that way. But you will probably have spent more than you won and have to eat dirt, worms and cardboard to survive.

Mega Millions Lottery
Yep, I rate this change pretty high on the what were they thinking? scale.
I'd expect the sales to go down, and once they realize that only a few winners a year is not good for selling frenzy, they might have yet another matrix change, like PB did.
The increased winners and payouts on the lower tiers is more of a nuisance than anything. I don't want a whole bunch of measly $1 winning tickets. And the 2nd prize is just about the biggest rip-off ever, 1-in-18.5M odds for $1M prize? Right...

State Raffles. What are your thoughts on them?
I liked the Massachusetts lottery raffle when it was the $10 million raffle for the new years drawing back in 2012. Even though the tickets were $20, I liked that they had set prizes. 1 7 million winner, 1 1 million winner, 20 $50,000 winners and 1,000 $1,000 winners. There were much more chances to win. And I liked having that big $7,000,000 prize because almost all other state lotteries top prize was $1,000,000.
These past 2 50/50 rafrfles I havent won anything on them. I bought 14 tickets
