Post your scratch ticket results
What are the odds in that game, do you know? We have a Cash 5 game, JP, match 5 numbers for the top prize but lately they changed the odds...used to be 1 in 575,000 I believe. Not bad at all actually. They changed the odds to 1 in 962,000+. I still play, even with the odds, anyone can win! Good luck!

Why Play Pwerball or Mega-Millions ?? Play you're States games !!
This depends on what you are trying to do. If you are strictly looking for a chance at a big score, like tier 2 MM or better, the MM tickets with Megapiler would be a better deal than the $20 scratcher, since you could buy 10 MM lines with Megapiler for the same price, thus dropping for your odds at hitting 5 to 1:390,470 and getting $1m back, thus the score would be twice as big for less than twice the cost in odds. MM also puts you up against just the math, as where top end scratcher tickets a

Which odds are better?
Example: The odds of getting 4 out of 5 white balls on one draw (one set) is 15,313 to 1. Play 500 sets and the odds improve to around 30 to 1 and the payout (without the mega ball) is $150. Playing 10 sets (instead of 500) decreases the odds to around 1500 to 1 BUT the Mega ball is guaranteed on all 10 of the sets if all 46 mega numbers are played on each set, and the payout is 10k (with the Mega ball). Im not sure if there's a correct answer, but without the mega ball its impossible to win

Repele!
What if the lottery used magnetic balls to repele from each other to keep certain balls from coming up with one another.Hmmmm this is very possible and it would make alot of sense.Based on the lottery makes more money off a single ball not coming up.The computer knows the best odds for a payout why u think the powerball is now 4 dollars on a payout.Hmmmm im just wondering just messing with thoughts that go on in this place called wonderland.Im also praticeing my english i didnt graduate i droppe

Odds on Misinformation
garyo1954, It's not clear to me what you are suggesting. I was saying that if you pick a large set of numbers your odds of being correct are higher than if you pick a small set of numbers. But to play all those in the large set of numbers it will cost you more $$$. Ever dollar played increases your chances of winning. What don't you agree with here? Using the mega millions lotto as an example, the calculated odds of winning are posted as 1 in 175,711,536. Are you trying to tell us that the

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
When the odds against winning are that high it really doesn't matter what they are, but most players understand if they buy 2 tickets they have 2 chances to win. If two chances are better than one, they increase their chances and if they buy 5 tickets they have 4 more chances than if they buy 1. I'll be waiting for a reply from anyone explaining why having 5 chances to win a jackpot is not better than 1 chance. Same thing applies when buying 5 lines in the lottery: 5/175,000,000 = 1/35,000,0

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Thrifty is right, each individual ticket (one line of numbers) is up against the very same odds, 175,000,000 to one. You can't increase or decrease the Odds without changing the game matrix. The enriched Powerball game will still have participants choosing their first five numbers from a pool of 59, but the numbers available for the Powerball itself will drop to 35 from 39. That will raise the odds of winning to 1 in 175 million from 1 in 192 million. It does not matter how ma

Is 50 Million Dollars Not Enough??
Must respectfully disagree with this premiss. The odds are always going to be 1:175 Million PERIOD. Whether 10 BILLION people play or 1 individual plays, those odds will not change. Of course the more people playing, the more likely one of those combinations will come up, but will still remain at the odds of 1:175 Million. There may be more multiple winners as well, when more people are playing. The odds remain the same.

Newbie with a few questions...
Thanks for the input. And you're right, based on odds and 'history' I have with the game, I'm leaning heavily towards the $10 game. It's just I do know that the $20 games, when they hit, are typically 'bigger' winners and the alure of '2nd chance', which I've never participated in before... And then, this new game being introduced had a slight allure just, well, because it's new-- and I've read where many feel new games have a tendency to hit good in the beginning and then cool off some.

Powerball Changes
tks for that longarm., interesting games and an intersting read. so i did some numbers on 2by2 and the odds are quite low 1 in 100k ish for 22k cash. a bit more generous than say the daily millions game at around 9 mill to 1 odds for a 1 mill payout. i can see why no one piles on these games. as the pot isnt that big. can a 10 mill to 1 odds game be considered tried giving away $1 mill prizes?wouldnt a 2 mill to 1 odds game called ohh i dunno the big easy ans ran daily, me more like trying to
