Do some number combinations have better odds?
Your the one who said humans have selective memory ..........
All I'm saying is chosen numbers have BETTER ODDS over RNG and you already helped prove that. I'm sorry that you cant run that through you logic machine and get a logical reason........
Some things are learned through practical application and ultimately CHANGE what is taught in the sacred class room where your reality comes from.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
The probability of matching 5 of 39 numbers in a 59 number draw is roughly 11.5%, so getting it right about 50% of the time is probably a quirk. If you've been able to consistantly pull that off over many, many, many draws than it may be relevant, although it's still tecnically possible.
I've seen my share of strange things. What's the chance that I, the two other players at the table, and the dealer would all get a blackjack? Coupled with the count being slightly negative? Tiny. Still h

Post your scratch ticket results
Total coincidence OldSchoolHits that I just joined the site before your post. As you can see by my name I am fellow ND fan. I plan to head to Miami with or without a ticket. This is my first post. I have been lurking for a couple months since I found this site. I pretty much just read the scratch-off threads. I'm not a big player but I do enjoy reading others' experiences. You guys have scared me away from the $25 Millionaire game. I have only purchased 3 tix and 2 were winners of $25 and $30. I

List of the Best places to get quickpicks from?
You're in WA too?!
That's what I figured was the gas station and Safeway here. I noticed that a lot of the jackpots were quick picks! Thus the thread to see if anybody had a list or knew of the best place. I figured I'd hit a liquor store after work today, just on the off chance sin is the way to go.
I've been hitting the Fred Meyer by me. I like the fact I can quick pick $20 all on 1 ticket instead of breaking it into $10 twice. I seem to get better odds at it that way and at least maki

Random Doesnt Know
Friend, I kinda understand what you're saying here. What you're describing here is the luck of the draw to your favor in the event that you've won, and, is absolutely reasonable. On the other hand, it seems you've also discovered the true odds against you after some sort of numerical revelation...and it's discouraged you some how. Listen buddy, EVERY PERSON on this forum has, or, is experiencing the exact same thing, okay. The MM's and PB are games which you must simply roll with the punches whe

$425 MILLION: Largest Powerball lottery jackpot in history
Nah, I'm not really mad. I play this game for fun and I understand the odds but I also understand someone has to win it eventually. If it's meant to be, it will be. But if I win this one someone willl probably have to give my heart a jump start and scoop me up off the ground. lol
I remember how I reacted when I won $5000 on the pick 4. I did summer salts in my living room and ran around the house cheezing. I can only imagine how i'd react for millions of $$$!!! lol

$425 MILLION: Largest Powerball lottery jackpot in history
Well my curiosity got the best of me and I had to do a little research on USA Mega. For 2012, there were 10 PB jackpots won. Iowa had 2, and Rhode Island had 2, NY had 1. For 2012, MM had 11 jackpots won. California had 5, NY had 3, and Illinois had 2.
As another poster pointed out, the states with the highest populations usually have the best odds of winning a jackpot. Simple. California actually is the state to hate. If CA had PB they probably would have a couple of those jackpots also.

$425 MILLION: Largest Powerball lottery jackpot in history
NY has 10 million sales? Ok? that just means it's 10m chances and the odds are still the same. Just like all those people who went crazy and spent their rent money and others who spent $1000,$10000 + and still lost it all and won nothing on the $656 Mega Millions. Still doesn't add up.
And I really don't care which single state has the highest sales. If you re-read what I typed you will see that I said New York is only a fraction of all the states combined but yet they have been winning the P

$425 MILLION: Largest Powerball lottery jackpot in history
That's what they want you to think! I believe the lottery people chooses the state and the Jackpot amount for its winners ahead of time. I sometimes question tho if they choose its winners and terminals. Maybe Jesse Ventura will investigate it since it's a conspiracy wondered by many.
NY has been hitting left and right and NY is only a fraction of all the PB/MM players throughout the states. It just doesn't add up to the 175 million odds for them to have hit so many times this year. And I am
