Lottery job a big win for execs who earn fat bonuses
By Maureen Downey, AJC editorial board
Dec. 6, 2007
The Georgia Lottery Corp. pitches its Win for Life game as The Game That Offers a Lifetime of Security, a slogan that might also describe a job with the lottery.
Equal Time: Lottery bonuses are deserved
With $3 million in bonuses handed out this year, lucky employees who end up at the Georgia Lottery have won The Career That Offers a Lifetime of Security.

Will robber get to keep lottery jackpot?
Time Treat make a really good point. Whatever crimes the guy has committed, taking away 50 grand a year in legitimate income isn't going to do much to reduce his interest in committing more crimes.
My guess is that after talking with his lawyer he'll remember that the lottery ticket was given to him as a gift. That would mean he didn't violate his probation, and gets to keep the winnings. Too bad there's nothing inthe article about when he alledgedly bought the ticket. My guess would be tha

Wanting Lots of Stuff
I always tell my wife that I would buy my own private island somewhere to get away from people, cars, traffic, etc. She made it quite clear that that idea ain't gonna fly!
Seriously, the most important thing to me at this point in my life is not fancy trappings, but the security of financial independence. Yeah I would buy a nicer house. Go on some hunting trips I have always wanted to, but couldn't afford. But mainly get my teens thru college, then Momma and I would travel to see this beautif

Sorry about that
Yes thats true about cookies i don't delete them every time maybe once a month. Mainly because i haven't figured out how to isolate the sites i visit that use different passwords and logins. When i delete my cookies i have to go through the login screen names and passwords for every site that uses them all over again.
Since AOL comes with McAfee security center and it's own spy ware i let it run and if it's dangerous it automatically blocks it.
My next PC will have Vista can't wait. Buyin

Sorry about that
I never appreciated a Rich Text Editor or WYSIWYG until I installed a wonderful everything you need forum component for my site and later discovered that it uses bbcode - ONLY. The creator of this wonderful everybody been waiting for - no bridge, even look good component stated that people don't need pretty pictures, tables and colors etc. and that he hated WYSIWYG with a passion- they just need to post what they need to say and move on. He said it was for security reasons. I was like WTF. S

Britain's biggest lottery winner says jackpot ruined her life
I agree, although here we won't have much of a choice and in FL all names are released, but a person can limit the amount of media exposure she receives.
Also, if this woman was struggling to pay her bills when she hit, it was indeed a blessing, not a curse. I realize nothing prepares a person for a major life change like winning millions. Still, every time I read a story about a lottery winner being miserable, I think of the homeless people who just want shelter from the rain or the singl

New York Lottery won't pay $25,000 for taped-up scratch-off ticket
The lawsuit if not thrown out, will never be won. Time and time again, courts have upheld the notion that lotteries do not pay on non-winning, destroyed or altered tickets.
I find the machine tore the ticket allegation to be suspect as well. Machines these days have bursters that press on the perforations between tickets - I don't think they could would cut through the middle of a ticket like that.
What worries me most is the tone of the article. One of the main reasons Lot

More than $240 million unclaimed by lottery winners
Totally disagree that this would be an advantage. What it does is seek out the lower prize winners who aren't claiming their winnings. It's bad enough that players have to wait weeks to get their money after a big win and can't remain anonymous in most states. The only way a lottery prize can be deposited in a person's account is if he registers in a central database using his name, address and social security number. So the last thing we need is more government in our lives and this would

Powerball Won Again?!?!
Apparently Tennessee uses the same computer program for the Cash-3, Cash-4, and Lotto 5 games. I'm assuming they programmed Lotto 5 first to draw 5 numbers 1 to 39 with no repeats ( u key for unique). They needed to hit the r key (repeats) for the Cash-3 and Cash-4 games but they didn't.
Did I miss something or what?
Just an email from somebody at the Tennessee Lottery explaining their security had run test draws for the Cash-3 and Cash-4 and indeed double numbers were drawn BEFORE th
