If you didn't play and your numbers came up
Man, 'ridge!! I really hate that for you, but at least you were actually playin' your numbers consistently on every draw...which seems to have paid off. You know how I feel about consistency. Good job, and, you can probably keep playin' those same basic numbers along with a small variation and hit again in the near future. It has happened before. One thing I don't get is how other players here seem to dispatch their numbers only on certain size jackpots and assumming that it will make a diffe

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Great post Ronnie! If they take donations at this church, wonder if they ever consider spending any of it on lotto tickets? Probably not, because their to afraid of the long-shot odds of winning.

I don't see how you equate realism with pro-government control. It's not negativity. I don't play much because it would be too costly. If I did play too much, the costs would outweigh the risks and I'd be going broke. That's actually a huge part of capitalism, DECIDING WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR OWN MONEY. I'm a complete Laissez-Faire Capitalist, hell chances are I believe in less govenrment and more capitalism than the most conservative members of this site, because some of my favorite econom

What are the chances of ever winning the 2nd place prize for PB or MM?
Yep, I figured it out last night when I was trying to calculate the odds of not one of three referees seeing LeBron James fouling Kevin Durant at least four times when Durant was trying to make the game tying shot. the numbers of winning combinations at each level are divided by the number of possible combinations. Shouldn't that be the number of possible combos divided by the combos in each level? 34 divided by 175 million does not equal 5,153,633.

What are the chances of ever winning the 2nd place prize for PB or MM?
They get the 1 in 55 figure by multiplying the chance of getting the power ball (1/35) by the chance of matching 0 of 59. Oh I see, you're saying if I multiple 1/35 (0.02587) by 3,162,510 (a 5/54 matrix), I'll get 55? Odds are usually calculated by making a ratio of the overall chances (175,223,510) to the losing chances (3,162,510) and reduce it to the lowest common denominator; 55.4 to 1.

How can I be such a loser!!
I see where it's more reasonable for a player to just hope for matching (5) numbers for the $1million. And probably why PB went to $2 tickets even though for the same $2 bet players could win $1 million before the change. When you think about it, matching anything less than 4 + 1 really isn't a win, but in every drawing somebody should win $1 million and many players will win $10,000. The jackpot is only won in about 16% of the drawings and very few of them had enough in ticket sales to be

Do some number combinations have better odds?
When I say negativity I'm talking more about the prevailing idea that there is no way to find better odds in certain groups of combinations. You're still confusing negativity and realism. There are two possibilities. One is that the drawing results are significantly non-random, but there's no reasonable evidence for that. The other is that there's some way to predict the resuts of a random event. Believing that's possible makes other ideas that are on the fringe look completely mainstream.

Post your scratch ticket results
Omiller - they have a new $20 listed on the PABulletin site, but that doesn't mean it will be out this month. Looks like odds of $100 dropped, just like with Black Tie. I made $1 tonight because the $5 For Life game won $15 on #035. Sprees are fun, but don't usually work out or me. I'll try a couple tickets here and there for a while. Good luck when you play. Congrats to the recent winners!

$100 on Powerball
Well, as you know, this time really didn't end up being my time. What I can't fathom is how two 1-35 numbers can repeat two times in just five weeks (14 and 27). Also, during that same time period 9 and 10 repeated back to back weeks for the white balls. The odds on that occuring must be crazy. I am sometimes on the conspiracy side for this lottery in order to boost the jackpot. By just making the powerball number repeat, they are automatically able to knock millions of tickets out from a chance
