Stop staying, 'Lower the odds'. It's the JACKPOT that matters!
I see good points on both sides.
On one side, it is important to have big jackpots for the people who want to see them (not necessarily win them). Under this form, the odds can get too high, though, that only a few people of the planet would win each year. Personally I haven't played these games for more than $40 a year, most years just $20 or even none.
On the other hand, I understand what people mean when bad odds are discussed. The odds are definitely terrible all the way f

Stop staying, 'Lower the odds'. It's the JACKPOT that matters!
To you that's all that matters. I would like to have decent odds, so I actually have a chance to win a jackpot. I'm one of those few people who don't care if the jackpot is 12 million or 300 million. I would love to win any size, but the more the odds go up, the less likely that will happen. Hey, if you don't care if the odds are so high you probably won't win anything, fine. But we all don't feel that way.

Powerball lottery to have larger jackpot, but harder to win
Given that Florida's population is now joining the game, that'spotentially millions more combinations that could have been boughtunder the old system, meaning jackpot winners were more likely. Theydon't want that.
That's not quite right. If they had brought in Florida but kept the same odds, winners would be just as likely, since winning is a function of the odds. More people playing would have resulted in winners being more frequent. The jackpots would have grown faster, and been won soone

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
As I said before, my goal is to be able to capture five white balls within a field of twelve.
kjs703,
If you think of it as a Keno game in which you are trying to match 5 of 12 in a field of 56 then your odds of having 12 numbers that have the winning 5 are 1:4823 and if you beat those odds then your odds of having the 5 winning numbers in the same lines are 1:792 which makes your over all odds of matching 5 by picking 12 numbers 1:3,819,816 which is the same as matching 5/5 in a field of

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
Essentially the formula is 1-n^x, where N is the odds of a thing happening (xor not happening) in a single trial, and X is the number of trials. Think coins or dice; it makes the numbers easier. The way Saliu used it in his explanations was that when n^x equaled 0.5 (thus 1-n^x equaled 0.5) then by X number of trials, you had a 50% chance of success.
He created a table where X ran across the top as integer exponents and N ran down the side as percents for various outcomes, e.g. .5 for coin to

What hit rate percentage does your system have?
It all depends on the number of lines played and the game played. Most pick5 games are designed to give up a winning ticket (matching 2of5) every 10 lines or so which usually pays $1 or a free ticket, so a 10% hit percentage is within the normal odds of winning something regardless of how the combinations are picked.
For system players, any system that's within his budget that improves his overall odds of winning is worth trying. Such system may exist but no one is coming forward and proving

Powerball multi-state lottery game to change rules
Ok, after this I am going to logoff. Consider this- If I buy two tickets and they both have the same powerball and that powerball does not come up then I cant win the jackpot. If i buy two tickets with different powerballs then my odds change. If I buy two tickets with the same powerball and that powerball comes up then my odds are not 1 in 97.5 Million...it does all depend on where the jackpot rains
The odds from the lotterys point of view are different than from the players viewpoint.

Hit 100 (TN) tickets
From what I'm reading here, it seems like they're just like GA's Hit $100 tickets. I've spoken to employees (most of them know me pretty well by now ) at several stores that I've been to for tickets in the past and only one store has sold like......3 of the $100 winners. The other stores have sold either none or one $100 winner.
If memory serves me right, I *think* there was a thread (or I might have been to a site and saw the odds for myself....don't remember exactly) about a similar game (i

Powerball multi-state lottery game to change rules
I agree it's insane, but it was at 1 in 147M. I mean, how many times has anyone here won a pick-5 game with odds of 1 in 377k?
Can someone please tell me what the odds of getting the 5 balls will be? Should be around 1 in 5.1M, right? If that's the case, the MM game in FL has a lot better odds. It's a 4 of 44 and 1 of 22 (MB) game.
Think PB is shooting itself in the foot. When people can't even come close to winning the FL Lotto with odds of only 1 in 23M, I don't see how they can expect

How do I prove my state lottery's CGNs are fixed?
There are over 146 million possible Powerball combination; how many drawings would you have to simulate before you even start to determine what should or should not happen?
People been saying this for years that there is 150 million combination...There is actually 3 million combinations if you count the 5 white balls..And those 3 millions are MULTIPLIED by the bonus ball meaning that they repeat 42 times...I notice that 80% of the bonus ball for Powerball is bellow 30 and above 5...So if yo
