N.C. lottery turns record profits for state
I see how they made a record profit, look at how many people win on there game, they have one the lowest payouts around. It don't take a rocket scientist to figure out what's they're doing, just add up the amount of people that hit with the payout amount, and you'll be able to see that they system is rigid. Honestly they know what we play, and then make sure that number don't come out, that's why there's no one in NC can hit big. Don't take my advice just start adding the numbers yourself.

$85M sought for "defective" Virginia lottery tickets
From a legal point of view, proving defect instead of fraud may prove to be a much easier suit to win on several levels. A defect suit could possibly contain an onus (or burden) on the State to prove or dissprove. It could contain a mutli-prong test in which if just one burden is not overcome from the defense (State) could be a victory for the plaintiff. Or in this case, all the players of scratch offs. I always had a problem with the retail level deceptive advertising here in Flor

Idaho's RNG (Video Included)
I love the oxymoron in the Idaho Lottery's description! Here's the sentence: The RNG is the most accurate method to ensure complete randomness to any number selection. How the heck can complete randomness be accurate ?! Isn't randomness the opposite of accurate? Poor grammar aside, I would agree with their implied assertion that the platonium method is the best way to generate random numbers these days. I don't think that's the issue with most people, however. I think the issue

*Jackpot Winner!!**
Scam Alert Isn't it so transparent what these people will go through -- and lie about -- in order to make money ripping people off? Tom9041 and ma507 are the same person. I'll now do some deeper digging in the system to see what other accounts he has registered. To all: Please click the Report Abuse link on any post mentioning this Expert Lotto software. This person has been posting spam to the forums on and off for a couple years now, and I've really had it with his garbage. I'm tir

How much will you give to your charity if you win big ?
What dinner? My room is very cold. As stated already, a lot of charities are nothing more than scam artists. In my area this lady even created fake sick kids for Fake a wish foundation and used $200,000 or so for luxurious vacations. Money that probably many could not afford to give but did. That is the brutal and cold honesty of this world, and not the fake heart-warming fantasy that most want to believe. I would not have a problem however donating to food banks and churches who give away fo

PA Millionaire Raffle
I don't think that the PA raffle (or many of the others as well) are scams at all because it doesn't have to be when you do the math. The PA raffle sold 625,000 tickets X $20 =$12,500,000 sales total Prizes payout are: 5 x $1,000,000=$5,000,000 5 x $100,000= $500,000 200 x $1,000= $200,000 7790 x $100= $779,000 ---------------------------------- Total prizes payout =$6,479,000 Net profit=$12,500,000 -$6,479,000=$6,021,000 so they took in about 48% plus any winnings abov

Heartbreak: Lottery scam led to NJ grandmother's suicide
I know someone that has won two fairly large online contests. What happens when you really win is they call you. They say, is this Mr. So and So? When you say yes, they say, Mr. So and So, you have won $XX,XXX from the such and such contest We have your name and address as Such and Such is this correct? When my friend replied, So is this kind of scam where I have to send you money first? They replied, No Mr. So and So, a when you win a real contest you are never asked to

Heartbreak: Lottery scam led to NJ grandmother's suicide
Her daughter says she wasn't a gullible woman. It doesn't sound like she was with her education and background. Those that do not sympathize with this story must consider this, I have received hundreds, literally hundreds of e-mails from these scammers and they make me laugh uproarously every time. Their wording is amazing. They actually make you think you've won. Adding insult to injury, I decided to take a few of the most persitent ones for a ride myself and act as though I'd taken th

Why you Will Never win Mega or Powerball
Logical fallacy here it looks like. Past data on lottery numbers is pretty much worthless. The argument may be made that no ball drop is truly random but I believe the lottery's non-computer number generating systems are within reasonable boundaries. In other words, we can call it random. Past data on hurricanes? Even if past data for weather forecasts is modified there are still methods to determining hurricane movement. A whole pile of scientific models and professionals to tap.
