Idaho Raffle Adds Instant Win Component
Definitely way too easy to game, especially for retailers. A better way would be selecting a random ticket out of every 25,000 sold. Very easy to program, and difficult to abuse. As it stands now, a retailer can wait for low as 24,950 (or multiple of) and then hit the machine hard and buy 50 tickets and double their money, plus have 50 raffle chances too. In reality, most retailers seeking to abuse this would likely buy a few tickets or less, and yet still have a decent chance of getting the $10

From the OP: If I was the one selling raffle tickets and I didn't pay, I would be sued or in jail or both, Rhonda Rasche, one of the winners who filed the suit, said in a recent interview. Bingo!

HOT LOTTO DRAWING CHEAT CHARGED WITH RIGGING MORE JACKPOTS
Please tell us about this imaginary lottery where a winner isn't even possible. If a lottery is run like a raffle where only the terminals pick which numbers are sold and have a drawing that picks a winning number that wasn't sold then you have a lottery that a winner isn't possible. Lotteries with self picks also draw winning numbers that aren't sold but it was possible for someone to have picked that number. I don't think many people would buy tickets for a lottery ran that way, I k

Idaho Raffle Adds Instant Win Component
I'd so much rather see them cut the $25 prizes way back and use 2000 of those for two $25K prizes instead. I for one do not look at the list of prizes and see all those $25 level prizes and think Ooooh, maybe I'll spend $10 for a chance at THAT! Nope, I look at that and think there are probably better things to spend my ten bucks on. I was planning on buying several tickets this year, but I think I'll stick with just one with that matrix. Looks like Oregon will be getting my raffle busine

Discovery - New PA Raffle Game Change
The 20 minutes had passed but to add ... GiveFive could be thinking correctly if there is something else going on inside the RNG Raffle machine ... could the machine be open to any sort of hacking with someone secretly tampering with the number selection ... having some of their numbers being drawn ... unknown to the PA Lottery? There seems to be a pattern of higher winning numbers ... is the software faulty? Is it just another Mystery of the Ocean ? ...

powerball sales continue to drop
An extra buck or two is no big deal when you're talking about casual players who only buy 2 or 3 plays per draw. But what about the serious players, who might purchase 20 or 30 plays per draw? I know a couple that used to buy 30 PB plays per draw when they only cost $1, that's 8 or 9 draws a month at $30 bucks a pop, so $240 to $270 a month. But when plays went to $2 each, that would make the monthly cost $480 to $540 for the same number of plays, an amount most people can't afford. So naturally
