Interest In Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
If one observed certain relations between present drawings and previous drawings, how will back testing disprove what they observed? Observations such as half the time a drawing in a 5/39 game will have at least one number from the previous drawing is supported by calculating the odds and those of all 5 winning numbers hitting in the previous 15 drawings at least half the time even though only 70% of the numbers may be covered are more likely to be proved by back testing. The only things

Florida woman mistaken for lottery winner
I didn't realize lottery winners were harassed to this extent, even mistaken identity ones. I am really surprised it's this bad. It really goes to show you, you must be careful who you tell. I guess I was right when I said, IF I ever won, I would move away and leave no forwarding address. But to be truthful with everyone, the chances of winning are virtually none. As such, I have cut way back on my playing. I rarely ever play the long odds games anymore. I hardly even play the 5/5 game here i

ITA. Not only it is reckless in this current climate, but it also indicates a very serious compulsive gambling problem, and even though the person(s) claim that they can afford it, why put it out there that they're doing this (unless they are indirectly asking for help). ???? I enjoy my scratch offs every now and then, and can afford to buy a roll or two if I wanted to, but knowing the odds, there is NO WAY that I'd spend hard earned money on an almost (sure) loss. Do what I do. Buy a coup

THANKS Long Odds, I was chasing the 4 sum but NOT playing the quads... too hard to get, kept selling out so I concentrated on the other numbers. I did pick up the 3 numbers for the 33 sum tonight. On the 3 way I am still looking for the 2 to show in the 6 sum - 213, 231, 204, 240 also 259 and a couple of trips 222, 111, 888, 444

With my above post I tried to state that most people try to predict future events bases upon missing data.... the state lotto's play into most people's lack of statistical understanding by stating that the odds of winning are 1/1000 at pick 3.... this type of math is inaccurate because your chance of winning is not 1/1000... it is only 1/1000 if you play 1000 combination whereby you would only win 500 dollars.... most people fail to realize that to achieve a 95%+ degree of certainty for a straig

Just don't play any more than you are comfortable with losing. When I play, I know I am only going to get about 50% back over time. The odds are clearly published, so you just gotta know what you are dealing with. Depending on the game, sometimes you get more, sometimes you get less. You just keep playing and maybe one day lady luck might smile on you. Have a budget for your lotto entertainment and try to stick to it. I'd feel bad about $800 in a week too, so I don't play anywhere near tha

Today I lost immaculately! Straight loss's on Diamonds 7's. Then on the $10,000 a month for life. Today was a definite PUSHER day. Waiting til Friday to play some more. I cancelled ever playing the Birthday 5$ game. Watched a guy get 5 tickets from that and only got 5$ back! James- Does the Florida scratchers have better odds? Noticed you win more then lose....

Oh, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful to the lottery gods! ;) I was happy to cash in that sucker of course. But normally a $2 Scratcher game has top prizes in the range of $10,000 to $20,000 or so, and only around 25-50 of them. This Hot 500 game is very unusual prize odds in that it has over 9000 top prizes of $500 each instead. So with this game, you have a decent chance of hitting the top prize. Normally I only play $5 Scratchers, the top scratch card in CA, but made an exception fo
