What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
Since I live near the Indiana/Kentucky border, I might drive over to Kentucky and play their Pick 3 instead here are the payout structures for the Hoosier Lottery's Daily 3 game and the Kentucky Lottery's Pick 3 game: Hoosier Lottery(from HoosierLottery.com): Bet Type Example # s Payout* Odds** Straight 1-2-3 $500 1: 1,000 Box 1-2-3 $80 1: 167 Box 1-1-2 $160 1: 333 Combo 1-2-3 $290 ($250+$40) 1: 1,000 Combo 1-2-3 $40 (Box Match Only) 1: 200 Combo 1-1-2 $330 (

New National Game - What Should It Be?
I've read that the MSLU or a collectiion of States or some entity is working on another nearly national game, that they are trying to get the JAckpots up to half a billion with, but that the tickets, as currently planned, would cost $5 bucks. I also saw 2 bucks thrown around. Not too sure, actually I'm gonna look it up now. Honestly, I want one that won't grow so huge, but into a few million, or up to say 50 million. So something like a 5/30 and 2/26 for total odds of 1 in 4

POLL: Would You Support A Nationwide Raffle?
Much as I'd like to win a billion, ten million will be more then enough, thank you very much. I'd buy a ticket maybe, but most of my play would be in a game of fair odds where I can make my own luck picking numbers. Instead of a national lottery or raffle I'd prefer the right to play ANY game nationally online for the same price as the locals pay. That's freedom. BobP

What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
Hi, garyo1954 The quick answer is that if my lottery plays were based on 'odds' of this or that, I'd give it up and watch TV.

Colorado newspaper prints wrong lottery results; couple thought they won
The odds of winning any lottery are usually so outrageous that I would have thought that anyone would be so skeptical and in so much disbelief that they would do everything they could to verify from several sources that they actually were truly the winners. Apparantly not. As has been said: Validate Validate Validate

HOW TO WIN THE LOTTERY? Buy One Ticket.
I AM PLAYING THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE ON THIS ONE FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS. I have heard and read many times that your best odds are on your first ticket purchase. BUYING MORE THAN ONE TICKET PER DRAWING IS A SUCKER BET. I get tired of buying more than one quick pick ticket per drawing and having 2, 3, 4 etc repeated numbers from the previous drawing. How about buying 2 quick pick tickets and realizing that you only have purchased one combination because the 2 quick pick tickets are identical.

Amnightus asks, How many Mathematicians Play the Lottery
Math is good for calculating the odds and knowing what you are up against. As far as trying to use it to win lotto that's about like thinking the puzzle game of Sudoku is a math game, which it isn't, it's logic. In lotteries one and only one winning combination is drawn, out of millions.

Wave pattern analysis and lottery draw histories
Don't you guys think it's time for you to put aside your personal animosities and get back to the question at hand? Personally, I'd appreciate some constructive comments regarding the role of 'substitution' as it applies to lottery strategies. If the odds of this or that happening for everything is the general rule, then we should just mail a check to our state lottery and go watch TV. If, on the other hand, there is good reason to believe that, despite the odds, there are w
