Determinism vs Randomness and Chance
I would love to see a complete specification of your favorite Pick-3 system, one that you allude to the existence of that one could live on the winnings from, so we could put it to the test. We could form a conspiracy of thousands of LP players, focus on one state, and laugh all the way to the bank as we watch that state go bankrupt while we collectively take them down through their Pick-3!
Sounds good but it will never happen even if someone does has a winning system because all states have

State vs Powerball vs Mega
My State Lotto takes priority at the moment being 22.7M and 1:14M chance..
Classic (when high cause better odds) - PB - MM (priority on whichever is higher)
When classic is hit, i wont play it until it hits 18M.

Suggestions please
Hi, goalgrl,
Definitely would go for the 2-3 of a $10 ticket in each place. Gives you better odds of making a profit. I wouldn't rule out buying 10 $10 tickets in a row, but that would be a rare thing for me.
I've never had a lot of luck on $5 games, so I'm more inclined towards the $10. I've won $100 on $2, $10, and $20 tickets but never on a $5. But if you've done well on $5 games, stick with them.

figuring the odds (?)
i had somehow gotten the wrong idea that the .## was different. after doing some more research i did get a better idea of how the odds are read.
so i guess the next question that would be harder to answer is does anyone know if there are a set number of tickets per game? do they continuously print tickets until?
btw, B$Rizzle thanks for answering my question.

New $20.00 ticket " Florida Millionaires Club"
That's a shame, James.. and the game has 1 in 2.95 odds.
There must be some hot rolls around to make up for it.
Sounds a bit like Cash Fever here - that tends to have very cold and hot streaks. Now I've been in a cold streak.

Applications of Probability and Statistics
pumpi76
Probability and statistics when applied to the lottery requires randomness. If any method produces
a better then expected outcome then it is the randomness that is in question. Lottery Statistics do
prove very well what one can expect when making a random selection and is almost mechanical in
nature. If however you find a pattern or other information that can be predicted to some degree then
statistics will not produce the correct results. This does not mean that the sta

All I can do is give you better odds of winning. To view my combos patterns found in the Powerball go to: http://www.box.net/shared/f74qiezh2r
I will be updating this file later today, but it will show you which combos patterns come in more often.
The results as of the ending 01/22/11 make up 46.95% of all the drawnings thru 01/22/11 since the last matrix change.
Please advise if you have any questions - you can send me a Private Message if you want.

Billion Dollar Blockbuster (Florida Lottery $20)
It is frustrating to me when they dont post info about a big winner.
Tennessee recently had another winner with TN Millionaire' Club ($20 scratcher) as the top prizes went from 3 to 2, but they have made not mention of it. Maybe the person hasnt come forward yet but even when a 500,000 ticket was sold there was never any info about it and TWO different gas stations I go to (same owners maybe? Its the same name, Kwik Sak) they both have it displayed with a photocopy.
But James1 I agree, sti

Picking numbers on a budget
Excellent questions!
First things first. Forget the odds. If you're going to buy a lottery ticket those are the last thing on your mind. Nobody buys a ticket thinking, I have a 1:195,000,000 shot. If they do, they wouldn't buy the ticket. Or they are crazy like most of us. Not a problem with me, but some people might be sensitive to the issue.
The good news is everybody has a budget. It may be $2, $20, or $200 but there is a limit for everybody.
The Rule of Thumb for Budgets is NEVER B

Just as a proposal, how about a Lotto Survivor game?
If 10% win on day one, 10% will win on day two, but that 10% will only be 1% of the original 100%. Start with 1000 people and you've probably got your winner on day 3. 10,000 means it runs until day 4.
At $1 per ticket the total ticket purchases will be $1.1111111 for every person in the pool, so $1,111 for 1000 people and $11,111 for 10,000. That means prizes of $550 and $5050 with odds of 1 in 1000 and 1 in10,000. Is there anything familair about those numbers?
You could tweak things a b
