Iceman, this is Ghostrider,
You're about average in your winnings/losses. The lottery is set up to achieve the results you've compiled here. In our state (California), they've accelerated the losses with their Mega Number scheme. The odds against winning have effectively doubled over the previous game, and it's a long shot just to win a Replay . The numbers I would like to see are the income/payout totals on the lottery balance sheet, with emphasis on the historical data which depicts the dif

Quick Picks on either Power Ball or Mega Million
Whenever I get a lottery pool together I usually use a wheel since I believe it's gives me better odds of winning. Now the other day my husband ran and just got quick picks for the Power Ball since him and the guys got a small pool together.
So I was looking at the tickets and I couldn't believe how the machine spit out the numbers. There were many duplicates of numbers, and even the Power Ball number had a bunch of duplicates. Does anyone know why or how that happens? It almost feels like w

roulette
dont rly see a topic here about playing roulette so ill just start one.
i see that many of us have some good luck and good results from playing pick 3, and with payouts as miserable as about 1:333 to some nice ones such as 1:900. However with games such as roulette hitting a straight number pays 1:36 odds being 1:37(EU) and 1:38(US)
Expanding this to compare to lottery payouts:
str8 hit in roulette
1:38 x 27 = 1:1026
1:36 x 27 = 972
assuming you win 27 straights, you will win a

Oh I agree 100% Calabs! I run simulated draws with my software and the variance is not what we see in real time!! Always has been my contention that our systems/methods can give us an edge; therefore the answer to be competative is tilt the odds a bit. Which they do!!
Good Luck to All!

stupid lottery questions.
Welcome to the boards, OP. First of all, don't let nay-sayers get you down. yes, the odds aren't in your favor, but someone has to win! Why can't it be you (or me)? Think positively!
Second, does it really take 14-21 days to get your lottery winnings? Really? Gosh, I feel like a moron. Everytime i visualize or daydream, I just assume I'll walk out with a check!! So, for 2-3 weeks, you're broke, especially if you quit your job?

WIN FOR LIFE Winning
Last week I hit 2+1 for $2 and 3+1 for $30 on Win For Life and yesterday I hit 3+0 for $2. Both times I purchased $5.00 in easy picks. Yesterday, in 5 lines I had all winning numbers but only 3 on the same line.
In order to be 100% sure you will have all numbers 1-42 you will need to purchase 7 lines. Now, is it possible to do this over and over by choosing your own numbers and eventually be able to determine what line the 6 drawn numbers will fall on together? If so you WIN FOR LIFE! You can

Florida Lottery winner featured on TV show
Many can afford Lustig's book. Few can afford his system.
If I had hundreds of dollars to spend every day playing the lottery, I'd do it too. That's the only way to improve one's odds of winning.
There are two clues in the article that give away his secret. First, he refuses to say how much he spends per day. If he did that, most people would immediately realize what his system is, and sales of the book would be dismal. Second, he says never spend more than you can afford. He'd be heavily

Lottery bill could limit winner's take
This is the most ridiculuos thing I have ever heard of and is just another example of what sad shape our country is in. I'm not saying playing the lotter is or isn't a good idea. But God knows, its hard enought to WIN the lottery because the state stacks the odds in its favor. Maybe you are poor and are hoping to win the lottery to help you get out of the slums. As I recall, just last month there was a story about someone who won the lottery just before they were about to lose their home--admitt

Israel Lottery draws same numbers twice in month
You dropped the decimal point, so it's 2.65, not 265, but that's still for any one specific drawing to match another specific drawing. I don't know whether this game has drawings one a week or twice a week, but since that set of numbers was first drawn there would have been at least 4 drawings, so the chances of those numbers coming up again would be 4 in 2.65 million, or 1 in 662,500. Further, the last drawing could also have matched either of the 2 previos drawings, so that makes 6 chances in
