Honeymooners episode...made me think of lotto and some threads here at LP
Oh, all true, LL. I don't know how many times I've seen things where knowledge of a game and knowledge of the odds couldn't touch plain old luck, to the point it makes you wonder where's the justice, you know? I've told his story before, but for a brief period one summer there was a dog track near Vegas. Our pit boss went out there and couldn't do anything wrong. He'd never bet on dogs before and was having a ball. After about five straight wins one of the guys sitting near him asked how h

Mega Millions Drawing Tuesday May 25, 2010-Jackpot $64 Million Dollars-Won $7
I feel that jackpot games give you a better value for $1 play than daily games, although the odds of winning are harder. Jackpot games are less addictive than daily games, because they do not give you the impression that winning the lottery is easy. Therefore you tend to control your spending more. Daily games can't beat winning $10k, $200k, $250k or the jackpot with mega millions or powerball for $1 play. On 8/28/2009 two players won the $336 million dollars mega millions jackpot by playing $1

PA Treasure Hunt at $150,000 5/26/10
PA's Treasure Hunt is up to $150,000. Not bad for that game where the prize starts at $10,000. Rustle some birthday numbers up and take a shot. I do when the prize gets up there. $$$$$ Pick 5 of 30 - the odds for top prize are 1/142,506. GOOD LUCK IF YOU TRY IT TODAY!

what about people with a system that only share half of the system
I play on average about 3-4 times per week, Johnny...that's it. I can only play on a specific type of draw which actually gives me very good odds. It requires playing a large list to cover the best numbers. I'm sure most think that I play on every single draw...and win on every one. Not so. But, I do win pretty regularly on these draws, and, when I lose I give up a 1/4 or 1/3 of any profit I've incured and usually get in back on the next draw. It's a very simple approach and extremely conservati

What's with NY Sweet Million??
Thrifty: Please accept my apologies, I'm sorry, it was you and not Thrust who said lotto, mega, and powerball are better values than sweet million. I guess I was mxed up since your names both start with TH (lol). And Thrifty, thank you so much for making me see the light on the value of the lottery games, if it wasn't for your post, I would not have researched the odds on all the games!
