Consecutive numbers in the Pick 6 lottery have surprisingly high probability but still < 50%
fyi recent news:) consecutives is something that abs can not be ignored... Mega Game 4/3/2009 Winning Numbers: 16-22-38-39-48 +42 (with 1 consecutive number pair: 38-39) As far as combinatorics, i am keenly interested in truncations such as above (01 thru 15 lost) these are commonly called groups, its not so much relation, so skip the thought:) but relations odds/even is a good question insofar as what is the probability of having an odd-odd or even-even pair in set of let say 56 while lea

Consecutive numbers in the Pick 6 lottery have surprisingly high probability but still < 50%
solid ideas! Important though is to get idea about probability differentials, (will need to enroll back in combinatorics class at some college:) why i say differential is that although is quite a feat to get exact numbers right, any slight probability % variation (as ie 50% for 49 game for consecutives and therefore play the opposite and skip draws when some high occurance of consecutives happen) will give you an advantage over reasonable amount of time, all of it can be calculated and probab

Consecutive numbers in the Pick 6 lottery have surprisingly high probability but still < 50%
My pleasure! Given some time i will try to calculate probability odds for mega and power ball as well as Keno (Keno consecutive numbers probability i immediately see as higher, not formally but by just looking at draw history patterns) these probabilities might not give you an edge insofar predicting actual numbers, but they might just give a hand in applying best possible ratio (mixture) of different distance between the numbers . For calculations i will use Math Cad, or Mathematica (mat

Pick5 Challenge-Win your 2rd in Pick5 Everytime!
The Most important and countable digit is the one you chosen as the one must last digit.Plus one must banker you can beat the odds as a lucky player. Other digits dont need to cover other winning digits, but only one missing digit is tolerated not to miss to have make a profitable result. The frequency of all numbers matter a bit also.

Taking lotto slips is a criminal act?
I'm not going to even try to pretend I know what the deal is for every lottery in every state and country. I know in Florida it isn't all that easy to get a lottery terminal franchise. The rep visits stores keeping the lottery display clean, replaces the scratch off odds sheet, fills the pencils and slips and stores extras under the display. I don't doubt slower locations are visited less often and get fewer slips, so it is possible they can run out and not be quickly resupplied. Though they can

HOw are you guys doing so far in this 2009?"
Although I am trying to stay positive, 2009 has not been the winning year I was expecting; so far $0.00 in all of the games, just 4 or 5 free replays so far on Fantasy 5, several weeks ago, $19.00 dollars for only 3 numbers on the Fantasy 5; 1 or 2 numbers for Daily 3 or up to zero or 2 numbers for Daily 4, Mega Millions Super Lotto, 0 . It seems I cannot win even a small amount of money just to breakeven; should I give up; at this moment, emotionally YES BECAUSE I'M GETTING VERY TIRED OF LOSING

Are there limits to the amount one can win on a drawing
Let's say I bought 20 Powerball tickets for $1 each. Let's say the 5 WHITE balls I selected for all 20 tickets all matched the drawing's numbers. However for strategic purposes I selected the 6th RED powerball number differently for each ticket. None of the RED numbers match. Crazy strategy and probably a dumb one given the astronomical odds...but bare with me here.... Are my winnings limited to just one prize($200,000)....or does my winnings multiply by 20.

How much do the odds increase by buying more tickets?
What if I spend $20 and buy 20 tickets? Are my odds then 1 in 28,788 (575,757 divided by 20)? Only if you buy 20 different combinations.
