Powerball lottery to have larger jackpot, but harder to win
This story was out for a while but not mentioned much until this past month. Everytime a big State joins there is a matrix change with more balls and tougher odds for the jackpot. I get burnout when the jackpot keeps increasing but I don't even get 1 or 2 # and have to make another run to Pennsylvania. 10M is life-changing enough and I'd rather see a 10M or 20M or so winner every few drawings than one 300M winner or two per year. Now we can say, Oh * #!^ it's in Florida (unless you're in Florida

Capturing 3 of 5 in GA - Pick 5
In Virginia Cash 5 is a 5 of 34 game diamond, it seems like most of the time the first number is either a 1,2,3, or 4 I used to play 4 small wheels, all the same except key number was 1 through 4. However, your odds are better the shorter the spread (distance between first and last number), and alot of the time, when the first number is between 1 and 4, the spread is over 20 in Virginia alot.

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
When I started this thread I was attempting to get 3 or 4 of the winning WB's and thought I could get at least a 0+1 or a 3+0 most of the time and with a little luck maybe a 3+1 or better some of the times with 20 lines. I started out during fine but as I tweaked my system I got worst not better, so I figured it's time to regroup/re-evaluate. I'm still seeing those patterns that I thought could be covered in 20 lines and have 2 or 3 WB's in the same line. I too never believed I could develop

Best Odds to win a Million dollar Lottery Raffel !
It's really strange how some states always sell out before the draw, but other states barely manage to break even. I imagine that it has to do with (a) the way they structure the particular raffle, and (b) proper marketing. If people don't see the game as exciting whether in the marketing message or in the cost vs. prizes/odds they won't buy it. I personally think that those states that generally stick with traditional lotto games (and rules) do much better with raffles and other new games. T

Braking the law
I'm fairly sure that it would be considered fraud for them to do that and probably a host of other things too. Not to mention the PR nightmare it would cause and probably killing the lottery in that state for a good amount of time from the money lost in class-action lawsuits to people completely losing trust in it. I'm sure those involved go to prison, probably some minimum security country club . Look at the RNG fiasco in Tennessee and how it's has hurt sales (we all know the Lottery Director/P

Winners share $3 billion in Spain's El Gordo lottery
what are the odds of this happening??? :( The 1,950 tickets with the top prize number were sold across seven of Spain's 52 provinces In the central town of Soria, Ricardo Jimenez's bar sold all 1,950 of the third prize tickets, spreading some 97 million (US$135 million) among customers, family and friends.

Only about 30,000 Florida Raffle tickets left!
I thought the Floridians here might want to know that their chance to get a raffle ticket is almost gone. According to the Florida Lottery, at the time I'm writing this, only 30,989 raffle tickets remain. Even if you're not a big fan of raffles, the odds of winning big bucks are so much better than most games you really want to sit this one out?

What chance have we got ?!?
Hey all, I read somewhere in a post here at LP where it was mentioned that before a drawing takes place, about 4 or 5 pre-draws are done to eliminate any chances of patterns or trends, etc. There are good chances that many of our numbers come out in that 1st draw from all our hard work using our systems. It's just not fair. It's hard enough as it is with the odds stacked against us, and yet they, Lottery officials, still throw a monkey wrench into the drawings to demoralize us all and to thi

Tennesse Lotto Plus= SCAM??
It sounds like probability doing what probability does. I've got no idea how many tickets they sold for the first drawing, but I'll make some guesses to put it in perspective. If the jackpot has gone up 100k with each drawing they probably sell about 300k tickets for each drawing (based on the prize ratio of many JP games). The odds of winning are 1 in 7 million. If they sold 300k tickets for the first drawing they would have sold about 4% of possible combinations, and there would have been abou
