Countdown to Powerball in Florida
The lotteries always have the ability to protect their own interests. Normally, only the jackpot is paid as a parimutuel prize (with CA being the exception, due to state law), and the vast majority of the time a 5+0 win will get you the fixed prize. OTOH, on those rare occasions where there are an unusually high number of winners, the lottery has the option to pay prizes as parimutuel prizes. AKAIK, that has never happened with PB or MM, and it probably hasn't happened with any game with odds th

Can I find all the possible Mega Millions combinations somewhere online?F
Alrighty, I'm just about done with an .exe Windows Application for creating 'full wheels'. It also has a 'Calculate Combinations' function that will allow you to calculate odds (or total number of tickets) for any input of Numbers Per Ticket, Max Ball, and Bonus Ball Count. ..Well almost any, it will calculate anything up to (and slightly over) 6 numbers per ticket with 300 balls and 50 bonus balls (1:48,141,142,335,000 by the way), which should be plenty. The application prints all combinations

which game is better to play ?
between the two of Pick3 and Pick4, yes, I like Pick3 better. I don't recall ever winning anything on Pick4 ever. Pick3 on the other hand, I have played and won more than I could possibly keep track of.
I think I have a good new alternative idea to the original post question
I think I will just start playing Pick 3 Any order, between one and four quick picks at a time for $6 each. The total cost per draw would be between $6 and $24, the odds could be as low as 1 in 42 when I play 4 nu

207 Million over.
I wasn't saying purchasing all posible combinations is a smart way to guarantee a win, but from a mathematical standpoint it would guarantee you a win. However you would still lose money due to taxes (unless the cash option was over $400 million), and the risk of splitting the jackpot would still be there. Nevermind the hastle of purchasing and double-checking that many pieces of paper ;)
The odds are different for a game such as the FL raffle since they are picking 9 winners out of 1,000,000

207 Million over.
If you spent $20 on the 1:175,711,536 game your odds are 1:175,711,516 unfortunately.
I agree with those that say this is wrong. If you buy 1 combination, you will have a 1 in 175,711,516 chance of winning. If you buy 175,711,516 combinations, would you still have a 1:175,711,516 chance of winning? No, you would be guaranteed a win since you own all possible combinations, making your chances 175,711,516:175,711,516. If you own HALF of the combinations, you will have a 1:2 chance of winning, b

207 Million over.
i'm a little discouraged after someone else won
If you are discouraged after playing for a short time, think of how you'll feel in 10 years!
How do you think the jackpot got to $207 million? Aggie, you can bet $100 a week for the rest of your life and odds are you'll never win. On the other hand, you might bet $1 on a Quick Pick and win a large jackpot if the lottery fairy sprinkles her magic dust on you.
Coin Toss - Great story!

Good morning Diamond
Not very good Im afraid, but that's why they call it gambling. Anyway the numbers that fell last nite ws out of sinc ( I hate it when 2 small numbers hit first)with the trend of group hits system that i use. And please don't let me confuse you with my system, but i do notice patterns and the 4-7-10 -24-35group which ony my system is A(4-7-) B(10) C(24) 35(D) just a contintual of the Satu. nite numbers (3-9-10-13-18).which totally messed up the current trend. HOpefully the

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
I am impressed with your chart. I track numbers by decade in each position (1-2-3-4-5) but until looking at your chart it never occurred to me that certain numbers play more often on Tuesdays or Fridays.
This is the kind of stuff that I like to see on LP, because there are smarter people out there than me that can think this stuff up to help cut the odds a little more.
Thanks for your input and good luck.

what are the odds
thanks johnph77,
that's what I was thinking, about 1 in 31/2 except when I try this system it will be days and nights, so that the 28 draws will be in 14 days (2 weeks).
The latest revision was to actually wait some of the days without betting any money, in effect improving my odds as it reaches the subsequent 14 day period. (Of course, an early win could be missed once in a blue moon, but I would just get a new set of #s and start the sytem over)
