What does the extra dollar add to the jackpot?
A fixed percentage of total sales is added to the jackpot but a $2 ticket won't double the total sales so Ohio's contribution will depend on if the players like the idea and spend more. If total sales stays the same, their contribution will be the same.
For $10, players would get 5 tickets instead 10, matching 5 + 0 will be four times more ($1 million), the other lower prizes will double, but the jackpot will be the same. By adding a payoff

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
Thanks for you comments. MegaMillions only has PowerPlay in Texas and I play it in Ohio. When I started this thread, I thought I have some good ideas that could create a system that improved ones overall odds of winning. Some of the stuff I mentioned was applicable to any lottery game but I pick MegaMillions because it was a game played in several states including Ohio.
I've been lucky and had a winning ticket every 20 lines, but nothing that comes close to equaling the cost of the tickets, t

N.J. lawmakers want full disclosure of lottery prizes
Smart peole like us, go onto the nj Lottery website, which lists how many prizes are remaining for which game, and we pay attention to the game number and color because you can have the same game i.e. Crossword or Win4LIFE, one color being newer and having more prizes remaining. The problem is many people aren't as savvy and stores are sneaky to sell such old ticket. Rule of thumb is higher game number is newer meaning should still have top prize.
They need to pull the old tickets and REPLACE

Powerball rolling until Jan.?
The cap is $25 million, and takes effect whenever the previous record is reached. The way things have been going, it would probably have to roll 4 more times to reach the next cap of 390 million on 10/8. That leaves 24 more drawings before the end of the year. If it rolled until then the final jackpot would be 990 million. As far as the chances of that, they're a lot slimmer than the chances that your ticket will win. No matter how many tickets are sold a substantial percentage of the combinatio

Worst odds ever
those odds are terrible!
I guess the prize is so great that most people ignore the fact they have such a small chance of winning and buy into it anyway!

Maryland Mega Millions lottery winner claims prize anonymously
I don't play QP usually I use algorithms. I don't play 10 tickets on a jackpot under 100M. Sometimes my prg. gives out weird numbers like that and I play them because the prg. is not prejudiced about numeric distributions on ball-drawings as opposed to computerized drawings like Hot Lotto. The thing is, weird sets DO come out, and they come out less often because they are of a smaller group of combinations such as 22 and higher for the sheer reason that excluding the first 21 balls greatly reduc

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
Stew,
I also look at numbers as identifiers of the balls but once the numbers and their draw dates are recorded there are so many ways a computer can analyze the data in seconds that I sometimes get caught up in producing all kinds of data charts. Sums, number of decades, number of numbers adjacent to each other and other data are not used to reject combinations but just high-lite those combinations that are within the parameters I picked but out of the normal range of previous winners. That

Lottery winner still a mystery in Georgia
I would NOT want to see a friend win over a stranger. But here's why. How rare is it for two close friends to win the (same) lottery? I guess technically (or is it logically?) one really doesnt have much to do with the other but the odds of having a friend win the lottery and you winning it are huge!
I guess if one of my friends lived in Ohio or something and win Powerball and I live in CA and win our SuperLotto then I would be okay.
But If one of my friends won the lottery I truelly

Sensitive Subject...Could you live with yourself if you lost the winning ticket?
Yes and no.
The odds of winning this great amount has it's own set of problems for my brain to untangle. As far as the dilemma you propose....well....... I'd rather wait to cross a bridge when I come to it.....lol
Just for brain space conservation...lol .......Gotta get more memory space. Maybe 3 Bazillion more bytes.
