International super lottery to create jackpots of $500 million or more
When MegaMillions and PowerBall made their last matrix changes, there were talk of a possible $500M jackpot but it never happened. I'm sure when PB changes its matrix again in January, there will such talks again. There would be no advantage for any state to join an international game as long as PB and MM are available. The problem is jackpots have to start out small because no state or country is going to contribute more to the jackpot then they can recover in tickets sales for each drawing

Tennessee Lottery - low payouts
How do you figure? The p-3 has 1000 possible combos. Surely, it dosen't matter who or what picks the 3 numbers, there will always be a given amount of people who would more than cover the 1000 odds, creating many winners. I don't know what the population of Tennessee is and what percentage play the p-3, but I'm pretty sure it's in the hundred of thousands, if not more. Surely there is another reason.

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
Had I used 21 bonus balls, I would have included the 2 since I ranked it 13th of 'most due'. That would have put it on ticket #13 for me (since I just ordered the MB numbers straight), and picked up a 1+1. Well RJ, the 1+1 odds are 1:141, so it isn't all a loss! I have been trying to figure out which is best for our pool, playing all 42 PB numbers at least once each, or pick half the numbers and play them twice, etc. We went with 16 PB numbers for tomorrow, spread out 3 times each over 49

N.Y. Lottery launches record-breaking scratch game
I would hope I'd be the doorman, and not the doorman's friend across the street. I don't know what the odds are on the prizes. Maybe there are a lot of winners for $30 back i.e. free plays. Ironically the cheaper scratch-offs can eat more money than the expensive ones because most people they win $2 or so they immediately play it back and keep doing so until they lose whatever they were going to spend. Thus it would make strategic sense to have it chock full of small prize winners. You wou

What Would You do If You Knew The Lotteries were Cheating and You Could Prove It?
Just because you don't see a need for it doesn't make it cheating. Even if we can prove that there's absolutely no reason to do pre-tests or change machines, it still isn't cheating. None of that does a single thing to change the odds, much less slant them in the favor of the lotteries. You may not understand it, but it's really very simple. They're going to have an unknown number of drawings, and only one of them is going to count. As long as we know ahead of time which drawing will count, a

What Would You do If You Knew The Lotteries were Cheating and You Could Prove It?
Well that's not exactly the case. There were people who knew that the Tennessee lottery was cheating the people. Soon after they started their computerized drawings some people let them know and the problem was supposedly fixed. Computerized drawings are easy to rig. Ball drawings are a whole lot harder to rig and i doubt they would have too. The odds they have for the drawings are already in their favor. Why would they risk rigging the games the profit margin is in their pockets.

I always get bummed
I don't see it that way.... The game is the game and each game is of it's self. Each game/draw is it's own! It doesn't carry over! OK you made 150 on a drawing.... that's just it you made the money on that one drawing! Yes you now have a bank roll to keep playing, but it's still a whole another game/drawing.. each time the numbers are to be drawn..... So each game/drawing is it's own game at the time of said game/drawing! I will not argue you won or you didn't.... if you caught 3+1 for 150 good

I always get bummed
The only two times I came close to being bummed out was when I had all six winning numbers on a $5 ticket and the best I could do was match 3+1 and 2+0 for $150 and match 2+1 and 3+0 for $17 but I was happy to just win anything at all. I was using a system that uses a pool of 25 numbers for the core combinations and a pool of 10 numbers for the bonus numbers. The odds of all six winning numbers being in those pools are about 1:600 and I did it twice in one year. I always thought if I ever go

Senate panels look into privatizing Texas Lottery
Somebody needs to welcome Texas to the club - lottery sales are down EVERYWHERE. 'It's the economy, stupid'. Personally, I think they (Powerball) need MORE winners in the 40-75 million dollar range, and NOT push the odds up so nobody wins except once every 3-4 months - when it gets to 275 million-plus. We don't need a 400+ million dollar winner, we need lots of 50 million dollar winners.

really random?
It happens, odds are the same as any other number being drawn. There are some systems that include the most recent numbers in the plays for the next draw. BobP
