Why do you play the lottery?
Several of the above would probably be my most accurate reply, but that wasn't a choice. Since I'm already retired, I can't say that to never have to work again is a reason. I have no interest in diamonds or fancy cars or a home theater, etc., though I would make an uptick in my living style. But not enough to consider to buy expensive things a major factor.
I do, however, enjoy the what if's after I buy a ticket, and I often don't even check the ticket until the next day to prolong the fan

Why do you play the lottery?
But I really enjoy the what if part though. As soon as I buy my ticket, it starts. What if this is the winning ticket?
I think most pick-3 and 4 players not only enjoy the what if part but have actually experienced the cashing a winning ticket part and the next time they buy a ticket they know it's a real possibility. Multi-million dollar jackpot games that could provide financial security have been around for over 20 years and most of those players have never experienced cashing the winnin

Should EZMoney receive "Hall of Fame" title in his avatar?
1. I have a system. Yes, even for quick picks. It will be released this summer after I win another big score. Theres actually a method to my madness.
2. I spent all the money within a year. Around $70k after taxes which has been right around my yearly budget for the past 5-6 years. I traveled to several places, paid off my car, and bought some gadgets. The ticket I won with was a $4 ticket I believe that used my system. In the past 15 years, I have probably spent around $3,000 on the lotto.

Man claims $16M Florida Lotto prize
Like some one else said on the LP, I only spend the extra dollar one time a year; when Powerball replaces a number 5 with the number 10. I have never cheered for second place, and never will. All my money goes for the jackpot; any hit less is nice money, but also a disappointment. I think the megaplier is a waste of money. Hundreds of thousand of dollars go into the state coffers twice a week, and they pay back on a less then a handfull; sometime none. Throwing money at the lottery is bad enough

Confession/Poll
We have MegaMillions in Ohio and last year I would drive 115 minutes down the Lincoln highway (Rt30) to New Haven, Indiana for PowerBall tickets when its jackpot was $200M+ and MM jackpot was a lot less.
Lately both games have had similar size jackpots so the differences weren't worth the drive. Now that gas prices are $4 per gallon, driving that far for lottery tickets is even less attractive. If MM jackpot size isn't big enough then I'll wait out a couple of drawings and it will be. Puttin

Man claims $16M Florida Lotto prize
If I ignore the truth, that purpose of the lottery is to take money away from you, not to give it to you, I agree with the premise. I would love to see Mega or Powerball go to some concept of where paying an extra dollar or two and doubling or trippling the jackpot. Obviously it would result in lower base jackpots, but, when you hit, man would it be nice!
If they take fity percent and apply it now, I am not sure if they would make enough off of those who pay the extra dollar or two, to come u

Man claims $16M Florida Lotto prize
Florida doesn't have MM or PB. This article is about the Florida Lotto. It is a 6/53 game that starts at $3 million and rolls each time nobody wins. The extra $1 adds $10 million as a bonus and, if you spend $3 per ticket, the bonus is increased to $25 million. In all cases, you can choose to take your prize as a lump sum (averaging 55% of the total) or a 30 year annuity. The winner in this story won $6 million and added $1 for a total of $16 million and took the lump sum. All I was saying is th

Man claims $16M Florida Lotto prize
As long as you can afford to loose money, it matters not how you throw it away. Three dollars instead of one dollar is the advantage of those who can afford to loose money. Buy a three dollar ticket or buy a one dollar ticket and a Hersey Bar. Atleast with the Hersey Bar, you get some nutrition - and pleasure.
Remember, the goal of the lottery is to take as much money from you as possible. Your goal is outwit all the experts and tremendous odds; only you get to spend real money proving your p
