Louisiana public education takes a toll from decreased lottery proceeds
With your poor understanding of odds, rates of return, and math in general, you yourself certainly could not manage $20 million, or even $2 million. Understanding odds is not greed, nor is a lack of understanding gratitude.
In any case, if you would play a $2 game with 1-in-300-million odds for a payout of only $2 million, the state would be delighted to take your money.

Yeah lol I guess so much for Cannot happen again ...and I never even considering pointing out to them that their posted odds of $10,000 and $20,000 on the FRM are truly not exactly 1/60,000 - had figured they were close enough.
But it still kinda bugs me that they went ahead and rounded out those odds but can post the top $1M prize odds accurately down to the last digit. Why not just be consistent and post them all correctly?

Lottery strategy: fact or fiction?
it's virtually dam near impossible to apply anything of logic against the insane high odds. maybe a super computer programmed by a human may one day do it but not by any human with math alone, it can't be done
Then we would be better off applying logic only to games that have much better odds of winning and ,hence, to not bother applying logic to games with insanely high odds against winning. So, in this way, there won't be a need for a supercomputer and the problem is solved.

Good. 1 in 23 odds at winning $100 makes more sense. If the odds were actually 1 in 212, this game would be terrible to purchase in books since there would be so many books where the biggest winner would be $50.
I bought 3 of the new $30 ticket yesterday, won $90 back. i bought 3 more today, all ticket #000 on different rolls. Wishing everyone the best of luck! The odds of winning $1M, and $1K are pretty good on this game.

Hey Killerwill, thanks!...and good to hear our numbers are close. Of course we'll soon see how many pools/books there are and resulting odds. At 350 pools I'd like to think my scenario is on the high end since any much more will start to push the overall winning odds up closer to one in three, which I think would start to turn people off of the game.
It would be nice if there were a few less pools/books, like the $30 GRC at 324 pools, and get the odds for a $1M win closer to the likes of one

Georgia Lottery launches new Cash Pop draw game
overcome 15-1 odds just to get your number drawn and then probably get 5-1 payoff. the rare times you get a higher payout under your number posted will be frustrating when your number doesn't get pulled. game is designed to drain money from unsuspecting players who don't understand odds. you can play a one digit number in most states now (odds 10-1) and payout (in ma anyway) is between 7 and 10-1. they think that offering a pie in the sky payout once every 100 times you play it will lure in cust

Odds help
Please forgive me as I am not good with math odds!
I'd like to know (in a 5/39 game) how many numbers would a grouping need to be to have 50% chance? Ie: half of the time the 5 drawn should fall within the larger group.

Post your scratch ticket results
PA's odds are getting worse. There is a new $20 ticket coming out with odds of 1 in 3.59. Our $10 50X has the same odds. Our $20 Silver and Gold ticket from 2017 is 1 in 3.19.. No wonder no one is posting here and my normal store hasn't had a claim form in ages. I know hindsight is 20/20, but really wish I stopped last year when I got the new car. Now I am moving, so the huge play days are done. I'll wait for the new casino to open nearby and have alot more fun with my money. Hope some people ou

The LP odds calculator is correct. Keno draws 20 of 80 numbers so there are 3,535,316,142,212,180,000 different 20 number combinations. The odds of matching 10 of the 20 drawn numbers out of 80 numbers is 1 in 8,911,711 as shown on LB's chart.
If anyone is interested, the experts can show you how to calculate Keno odds.

how could the computer find patterns in a lottery?
Why is it that no mathematician has ever demonstrated via an LP post how knowing the odds, probabilities, statistics and other math-based features can help average, everyday players actually win a significant lottery prize?
Firstly, let's get a handle on some terms. Odds and probabilities are basically the same thing. Odds = 1 divided by probability. Equivalently, probability = 1 divided by odds. That is, if the probability of winning is 1 in 150, the odds of winning are said to be 150
