Pot Size Prediction?
The court's decison couldn't possibly have been a surprise to either lawyer, unless perhaps there had been an agreement that the new member wouldn't get a full share. Even then I don't think it would be surprising when the court ruled that the previous drawings were all distincts events that were done with, and each member deserved a share in proportion to their contribution for the winning drawing. My money says their lawyer was charging by the hour. Splitting the winnings based on each person

The prediction software you've been waiting for?
It could be possible but the odds of the computer getting it right, are almost impossible...The supercomputer will have to think so much per second...
That's why I don't understand the trend of some states going to computer drawings. It might not even take a supercomputer to analyze a set of drawings and determine the methodology the lottery's computer is using and duplicate it.
Can you imagine what would happen in Tennessee if they had to pay out the max every day for a week?

Hoosier Lotto in a dry spell
KY Floyd says:
It would certainly be nice if the state released more information, but without that information you don't have anything real to justify most of your conclusions.
You are correct, but IMHO this is a two way street and no one can come to any conclusions about this lottery, you can discuss percentages and odds all day but they mean nothing without some transparency from the IN. lottery. Something is awry.

Restaurant workers split $4 million lottery jackpot
It's not about sharing, it's about odds.
If only one of the people in the pool bought that ticket he/she would have been the only winner.
You seem to be completely missing the point of pools. If only one person won, what about all the other people in the pool? If there are 10 people in a pool they're 10 times as likely to win, but they're only playing for 1/10th as much. From a mathematical perspective it's an even trade, and there's no real difference between playing on your own or p

Hoosier Lotto in a dry spell
Sales doesnt mean didly, as it is common sense that statistics will show that number 1 should be the dominate payout State.
Real common sense says that payouts will always be determined by sales, in combination with the odds of any given game. Nobody with common sense would expect higher payouts with lower sales, just because the population is higher. You can think whatever you want, but 1 million people buying 1 million tickets in one state should produce twice as many winners as 500,000 t

Instate lottery accounts
I would like that here on Tx, but only because it would be a beginning of legal online playing, maybe later people would be able to to buy tickets for other states also, monopolies need breaking, if your state stinks then play elsewhere.
The same with casinos, there should be no monopolies, they should be legal everywhere, peole go to them wherever they are, the casinos should come to them instead.
It is like business, whoever gives you the best service or the service that you want, that
