Hi A good way to play for a Office Lottery Pool is to buy a 5 numbers ticket for a 6-49 lottery. Many Lottery have this 5 no tickets available. How it works: the 5 no ticket cost you $44 and you get 44 chances of winning and your odds are largely improuve. because you are guarantee to have the sixth no. Let say you choose no 4 -10 - 12 - 24 - 36, you ticket will cover 4 - 10 - 12 - 24 - 36 and no 1 4 - 10 - 12 - 24 - 36 and no 2 4 - 10 - 12 - 24 - 36 and no 3

Indiana Lottery Million Dollar Raffle results
Is this bad news for future raffles, either in Indiana or in other states who are considering one but watching the results other states have? I used to enter the raffles for the $350,000 St. Jude's dream home for $100. The limit here was 7,000 tickets up for sale. The first year they got them all sold but the 2nd year they only sold a little more than half and there was no 3rd year. I'm very disappointed because it was fairly good odds and lots of fun. There were lots of secondary prizes

Strategies: I'm new to the game in more ways than one
I lived in Hawaii for three long, boring decades. There was always talk of a lottery there, but the big powerful politicians did a good job of keeping it out of the state. Last I heard, Utah and Hawaii are the only two states that are lotteryless (is that a word)? Anyway, I recently moved to Florida (not because it's a lottery state)! Since moving to FL, I purchased a few groupers (mixed bag of: One pick 3 straight Cash Three, pick 4 straight Play Four, two of the 5/36 Fantasy Fives, One Mega

Is it possible...
Times have changed but Pick-3 was called the Number and systems were designed to pick one number not 6 or 50 and brag when one of those numbers hits in the box. There might be some logic to play 50 numbers straight to get 9 to 1 odds but if they need to box those 50 numbers to get a hit, it's a losing proposition. I guess they forgot to add the fine print that says they are actually playing 300 numbers. Most Pick-3 games offer a 2 out 3 pay off, but not many people play Front Pair, Back Pai

Hoosier Lottery
So why dont states just advertise $18 million lump sum oppposed to $42 million annuitized? Why bother? Cause they KNOW that most of the public is uneducated and they are looking to create false hype or interest by inflating the numbers. State run lotteries are no better than enron or arthur andersen. I love the fact that the Hoosier lottery will pay out net if hit this week about $12 million after taxes. . I wonder what they have taken in the past 42 weeks. I bet its surely a lot more than the

(Sort Of) New Concept
Vegas actually did a test run on Reverse Keno once. 80 numbers in the bowl (back in the days of balls) - 60 were drawn out, 20 stayed in, and the ones that stayed in were the numbers that detrmined payoffs. The odds were exactly the same as Keno (of course) so it was ok with the Nevada Gaming Commision, I think it didn;t go over to big with the players - and the callers must have hated it! Before it actually happened we used to joke about something like that- tickets on black paper

Statistics question
I forgot about this thread for a while. Rather than you losing a zero I apparently found an extra zero, or at least an extra place. I forget what I came up with but I rounded a number that was the same (or at least similar) to your figure of 3,176,716,400. Maybe I punched a 3rd 0 before saving it in the calculator's memory, since I came up with odds around 1 in 90 million twice. I think I did the math right, but that doesn't matter if you start with the wrong numbers. The Windows calculator
