one chance to win $100 millions or ONE HUNDRED chances to win $1 milli
KY Floyd writes: For those who don't believe that 100 tickets makes you 100 times as likely to win, why would 100 chances at $1 million be better than 1 chance at $100 million?
I don't know why anyone would doubt that 100 tickets for a game gives you 99 additional shots at winning a jackpot than only 1 ticket. I hope this isn't going back to the debate about one extra ticket cutting the odds in half. If I spent $100 on a lottery game with 100 million combinations, for example, it do

How to Beat Powerball: And drastically reduce the odds (theory)...
No, what I mean is, you develop a 'system' that you use on a consistent basis, but it still is up to luck for it to increase your odds. If you have a system that has gotten you several 3x5's and 4x5's, then it will take luck to get those 1 or 2 other numbers. Or pure guesswork, which leads to the next thought: is guesswork luck in itself ?
Your 'system' can be as basic as Not picking all the same numbers that hit in the last game, Not picking 1-2-3-4-5, Not picking ALL the longest shots o

how often do you play powerball/mega millions in your state?
Rick:
When the jackpot is very large, both PB and MM can give something that gamblers seldom see, an expectation value higher than one. (The expectation value is the potential reward divided by the odds.)
For both games the expectation value for lower prizes is fixed (except in California) at slightly less than 0.2, so playing for small prizes is not wise, but to tell you the truth, when I play these games, I'm not fantasizing about winning $100.
At that point the MM or PB is the best

People thought i was crazy when i first joined LP and mentioned the street numbers were so much easier to hit. I even wrote a thread pertaining to this saying anytime i had narrowed my picks down to 4 numbers it was a guaranteed hit and boy did i get some replys calling it B.S. Not going to mentioned who was the main culprit but at least you know what i meant about the street numbers (for those that don't know; they are ill-legal to play). And to make things worse for us is the fact that they ca

How to Beat Powerball: And drastically reduce the odds (theory)...
There are 2 or 3 more further patterns i am going to post later on today or tomorrow that you can use to further reduce the odds...(One of those patterns is an unheard of pattern)...
Trying to win Powerball is like going to the center of the Earth and coming out in the movie The Core ....

PA Lottery's Millionaire Raffle returns on 7-7-07
Michigan also announced another raffle starting a week after the draw for the $50 raffle...It starts on the 25th and is a $20 ticket.
Who needs Fantasy 5 anymore? They should have a $2 ticket and call it Double Fantasy ... Why buy the Fantasy Fives when you can save your money for better odds at higher prizes with raffles?
At least a Double Fantasy ticket would crank the Jackpots up higher.
With the fast raffle draw turnarounds here I am wondering when this rafflemania will slow do

Anyone ever won a straight 2 days in a row??
I can guarantee a STR win 2 draws in a row but only if I can play ALL of the #s each time! Obviously the more you play per draw the more likely. For example if I played 10 #s midday and 10 #s evening the odds on a given 2-drawing sequence would be 1 in 10,000 or the same as a single STR 4. The best I've done was one day I had Pick 4 box on both mid and eve and another time recently I had Pick 4 box mid and eve but also 2 different States, nj PA! (mid nj, eve PA).

When we see the same digit in a Row
Good deal !
We didn't get any more digit 8's. We didn't get any more mostly to all evens either. That's good as well.
717
The odds of getting any more 8's were so small it really was a good bet. I can't remember the last time there was 7 mostly evens in a row so that was a good bet to flip over to the Odd digits selections as well.
