Have anyone else noticed that since the start of the new Ohio 649 game Classic Lotto, that three or more of the winning numbers have been from the top 25 numbers 100% of the time and that 75% of all the winning numbers have been in that group also? This group has included all six winning numbers 14% of the time and five of the the winning numbers 41% of the time. When all six winning numbers are in a group this size rather than a group of 49, the odds of winning are reduced for 1:13,983,816

How much you can depend on back testing may depend on whether your system is dynamic or static and the odds of the game you're testing. Simulating conditions of pass drawings can be tricky and knowing what the results were can cause you to simulate success. I prefer to backup my back testing with some forward testing, that is once I think a system is showing some promise I'll use it to make a few predictions and if it continues to be successful then I have some confidence in it. The odds are so slim that I probably wouldn't. On the other hand, I'd be very upset if I won $200,000 instead of $800,000. Depends on your personality. I look at Deal or No Deal and wonder how those people feel who turned down over $200K and walked away with a few bucks. Some people can just say I came here with nothing, so it's okay. I wouldn't be that nonchalant about it. Once I made a mistake and I ended up going back to buy the right ticket, but it wasn't for PB.

Well the odds are 1 in 100 every draw but there is about a 63.4% probability that it will be drawn within the next 100 games. PowerBall is hit more because of 2 reasons: 1. The odds of winning PowerBall's jackpot is 1 : 146,107,962 compared to 1 : 175,711,536 for Mega Millions jackpot. 2. A lot more states play PowerBall than Mega Millions.
