Lotto 5/25: New Game Idea
I agree. Just like the casinos, the states want to come out ahead all the time. Of course I think it's a great idea! (I wish the 6 number FL lottery didn't change from 6/49 to 6/53!) Regarding the pick-5 game, our Fantasy 5 game now has 36 numbers. Although once in a while you will see just 1 player win, more often than not you will see 2, 3 and more winners. In January seventeen people won a jackpot, since the numbers drawn were so low. RJOh, I've never followed West VA. With only 25 nu

Taxes
There is actually a line item on the Tax Forms for Lottery/Gambling/Prize Income and if I am not mistaken, it is treated as Normal Income Tax so that it can be taxed at the highest possible tax rate allowed. Get a copy of the latest income tax forms and you will be able to see where it is located. I think it is a few lines under Income. In regards to the video, that is something that generally circulates at least once a year around tax season. Just keep this in mind, it was the IRS who took out t

Illinois Gets raffle
I don't want to knock the CA lottery raffle, but personally I like the 500,000 ticket format. I wouldn't play it if it was more than that. Regardless of what probability and odds theorists say, it's a lot easier being a winner in a 500,000 ticket raffle than it is in a 5,000,000 ticket raffle. Just my opinion.

Lottery a Sport?
I guess there's a fine line that separates the 2, although I think it's a lot wider. There is a Game channel on TV and I doubt if Match Game or Lingo would ever air on ESPN. Maybe sport depends on how you personally play it. I suppose the same goes for athlete. If someone told me I was going to meet an athlete, I'd picture someone who is lean and muscular, eats right and works out hard every day. I don't need to list the so-called sports that have lots of overweight, older men (like gol

Do you wait for the PowerBall to get to a certain amount?
My odds are the same whether its a high jackpot or not. My tickets are qp so I figure they already know which balls NOT to pull . I tell all my associates what numbers are on my $5 play ticket and advise them NOT to play those numbers! Luckily I am also in a small group pool each week and we usually break even by the end of the weekly plays. Its discerning when I hear that some folks are only in the game for the BIG jackpot amount and anything less is meager. Give me 10k, Give me 1 k..

CT Classic Lotto 2/6/07
I play Connecticut's oldschool lotto a couple of times a year. It's a nice diversion from the jackpot games with higher odds. A cool 6/44 game with a long draw history and decent lower-tier prizes. Jackpot is $2.5 million for Tuesday. My top 14 picks for 2/6: 3-4-5-7-9-18-21-22-25-26-28-32-37-39 Challengers/Comments welcome.

How Many Tickets Per Drawing DO You Buy
there are actually 17 billion combos for the powerball, many of which contain the same numbers, which is why they choose to reduce the posted odds. In a draw order system you are up against all 17,000,000,000 Looking at things in this way keeps me only buying ONE ticket per draw these days. MM has 21 billion combos... though not all are unique (just like PB)

Lucky For Life
If Lucky for Life was poisoned by me, as you appear to be saying, then I guess my boycott of the game successfully was spread to other LP members, who might in turn have told others not to play it. And, as far as greed was concerned, I wonder who made money BECAUSE Lucky for Life winners were forced to receive yearly payments instead of being offered, say, a $500,000 cash option. (The Pennsylvania Lottery itself didn't benefit by making the top prize annuity-only; in fact, I wonder how much le
