Even if the tickets were $2, it's unlikely the starting jackpots would be much higher. Tonight's jackpot is $33M (cash $19M) and doubt if anyone wins it, they'll be upset about the amount.

The new game, Million $ Madness, gives players a one in 200,000 chance of winning $1 million. Rebecca Paul Hargrove, the chief executive officer of the Tennessee Education Lottery, said lotto players always want a better chance of winning prizes, which they can have in the new game. If you're talking about the odds of hitting 4 out of the 5 numbers in one line... There are 250 possible lines that will match exactly 4 out of 5 of the white balls in any drawing. A random line has a 1 in 13,915 chance of matching exactly 4 out of 5. This has nothing to do with the red powerball.

It depends on several things. Pick 3 is better STR and Pick 4 is better BOX because STR they take taxes and already the Lottery takeout is 50% (a 50c ticket has a 1/1000 chance to win 500 times 50c). All that BOX means, is for the same 50c you are covering all the arrangements of those 3 or 4 digits. But, you get a fraction of the top prize based on how many STR numbers that combination covers. I've heard what you all are saying. It is actually good news for me because I can rely on my system instead of going with a totally random number. My other theory is that you cannot increase you odds - consistently i guess. If you try to shut the window the door opens. If you try to close the door the window opens.
