He apparently took his time about it, but the owner of a winning $8 million Lotto ticket purchased the week of June 16 at a Sunset Avenue convenience store presented himself and his valuable ticket to Illinois Lottery officials earlier this month.Lottery spokesman Courtney Hill said Thursday that 58-year-old Jose Angulo Leon of Waukegan was awarded a check for $8 million, minus the taxman's take, after bringing the winning ducat to one of the state's Check Writing Centers for verification. Lottery foul-ups rare but expensive
Lottery mistakes don't happen often, but when they do they're costly resulting in multiple awards or increases in the prize money. Here are some lottery foul-ups from across the country in recent years: Earlier this month, a missing nine ball in a drawing machine led the New Hampshire lottery to honor two winning numbers. It was the second double payout resulting from missing balls in the state's lottery drawing machines this year. In April, the Wisconsin lottery posted an incorrect winning num

Bad News MO Players...
Wow! Did I ever get a response to my e-mail. I had to scroll down 7 times with my scroll button on my mouse to read the whole response. It was very informative. It is what should have been posted on the website at least 2 weeks ago, if not longer. One section of the response said they were going to post something on the website tonight about it. That's a 3 day notice before it happens.Anyway, they have actually raised the prizes again, but only $2 per hit. It's a flat $600 dollars for a P3 strai

Study: Brain Prefers Working for Cash
My experience has been that it's more rewarding to earn money rather than have it fall into my lap. It has been said that only someone who has created his own fortune (through labor) can really enjoy the fortune he has created, because he knows its value whereas someone who hasn't done the work to create it cannot. On the other hand ...I am stuck in a career vacuum from which there is no escape. I am highly educated, yet I can't get a job in the field for which I'm trained. And I can't afford to

Are Lotteries Rigged
Wiseone2 wrote: Through technology. Computers today can do just about anything you can imagine. The drawing balls in a drum can be magnetically charged as to pull them down to a metal shoot before releasing the charge and allowing the ball to fall free for example. I have thought about this also and think it is very possible to do this the balls could have silk screened magnetic ink/paint. If I was going to rig a lottery drawing I might have experimented with this idea. I'm sure that we aren't

They didn't even buy a house or car, nothing they just spent it like it was water. The guy who started this thread can produce whatever film he can afford to make. And I'll bet there are hundreds of folks who did the same thing in
