Powerball Lottery Game Numbers 4/20/2016
You could buy 50 tickets per week for the next 70 years of your life, and you STILL would have, by any practical measure, ZERO chance of ever hitting the jackpot. Your odds wouldn't be ZERO but 1:5,844,027 with 50 PB tickets, but why buy 50 PB tickets for $100 when you could buy 15 MM tickets for $15 with a guaranteed $1 win if you play all 15 bonus numbers with odds of 1:17,529,390 of winning the jackpot and odds of 1:1,232,814 of winning $1M.

I need help with odds calculations
You don't need to be a math wizard, any odds calculator can be used to answer your question. If you reduce the number pool by 10 and the bonus pool by 6 then you would figure the odds for a 5/59+1/20 game which would be: 5/6+B=1:100,127,720 with overall odds of 1:10

21 Club system
I'm starting to be as clear as BA!! oh noooo :) I can dumb it down since each of us seems to need to do that for the other to make any sense of things. Odds are talking about the chances of 1 occurrence of an event happening versus the chances of some other, mutually exclusive event, happening. Mutually exclusive means there is 0 chance that both of the events happen at the same time. Probability is talking about the chances of a positive result happening out of all of the possible

Are PB players switching now to MM to create the next Billion dollar JP?
$700 million is unlikely for PB, too, despite the $2 ticket price and steeper odds. Still, until 7 weeks ago MM had the record for the biggest jackpot, and it reached that record with $1 tickets and 1 in 175 million odds. Applying that probability to the current odds an equivalent jackpot would be just a hair under $700 million for the cash value, or almost $1.1 billion for the annuity value.

CA lottery Scratch offs
I believe the odds posted on the website are deceptive. As the prizes are won, your chances for winning get worse and no longer what they advertise. Also, I read somewhere that the state uses 2 printing companies - one in north calif and one in the south. The winning tickets are split between them. So, if more winning tickets are bought in one location, the odds are even worse for that area. Unless you are checking the location of the winners all the time, you have no way of knowing that the odd

To strategize or not to strategize? That is the question
That's an interesting question. Depends on whether you're looking at dollar odds or game play odds. Because you have to buy 8 lines the dollar odds are 8 of 6/48. Because only 6 lines or fewer can have winning numbers among them the game odds are 6/36. Actually if you could determine which 6 lines would have winning numbers, wouldn't be worth playing for one number per line, the intent is to have the winning numbers fall among 3 of the lines or fewer. IMHO there has to be

To strategize or not to strategize? That is the question
Every unique combination has the same odds, the overall odds never change, but odds of a reduced field do with each size change. ~well said

Indiana Lottery is a farce!
Odds of two consecutive Badger 5 drawings having three numbers in common is 1 in 53, exactly the same probability of your Badger 5 ticket matching 3 of the 5 numbers from a drawing. BTW, the odds of a Badger 5 drawing matching all 5 numbers from the previous drawing is 1 in 169,911 which is also exactly the same odds that a ticket you buy has of matching all 5.

Luckiest States
You won what? Smaller prizes? So have I, but I won more playing QP's on jackpot games then using my own numbers. I won more on smaller games playing my own numbers. But I also play more QP's on bigger games, and play my own numbers more on smaller games. So that is probability and odds for you. Any ticket can win yes, but when the bulk of the combinations are played in one state they have a much better chance. But it is not 100% still they just have more plays and better odds. Way more chances.

I think that powerball has crossed the line what do you think?
I don't think a JP should evolve around whether people can handle that kind of money or not...but it would be nice if these jackpots split it up so more people could win a piece of the pie with better odds instead of one person taking the entire cake-- who were simply lucky and beat the odds of getting struck by lightening...but then again that is why there are numerous games with different odds and payouts as well. But as far as people being greedy for wanting larger JP's or lowering JP's becau
