Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
My model indicates that the probability of reaching that jackpot is about 24%. The model is not perfect however. To my mind it represents an approximation, a good approximation, but an approximation nonetheless. It would seem however that the odds are with your friend and not with you.

one huge nationwide jackpot game
Actually Mike, I favor a National or Federal lottery. I think it would be a great idea. Someone suggested in this thread that the money be used for disaster relief...which isn't really a bad idea. But I think an even better use of the money would be to shore up the Social Security system. I think they could make that whole rotten system solvent within a few years and still have money left over to reduce the National Debt. Great idea! I just don't trust the Federal Government, not j

Mega Millions lottery jackpot increases to $56 million
Should anybody be surprised that about half of the numbers picked are odd and half are even when half of the numbers to choose from are odd and half of them are even? The experts are simply getting basic probability right, without providing any useful information. Still, I suppose that's better than all the times they don't provide any useful info and get things wrong. You can look at past results all you want, but there's absolutely nothing any of us can do, as far as what kind of numbers we

Most corrupt US lottery
You can't expect the lottery officials to care about the players, they care about making money, and making the game enticing enough to throw our money at. They are not sitting at home praying that someone will hit the jackpot soon, in fact thay are hoping for the opposite. They want record roll-overs and boosted sales from all the marketing hype. Cash_Only speaks as if they are supposed to care about our payouts. They don't, they only care about structuring the game to keep the odds in their

Horse Racing, Hawthorne Sat.
My son just went to the track with his buddy. Strongest program number today is # 4 followed by 1, 3, and 7. He always asks my opinion before he goes and using the program odds and Inspect 3, I came up with the following picks. He plays exactas so I suggested 4-1, 4-3 and 4-7 boxes; #4 to win all races. His buddy plays trifectas so I suggested 4-1-3-7 boxed, all races. We'll see what happens.

Ohio lottery is corrupt
I always felt it, but now I know it. The last 5 draws were 5248 9440 2994 4852 4582. The odds of this are so far out there that it could not happen without some help.
