Quickpick or QuickRIP?
I completely disagree with the so-called statistics on QPs. The numbers aren't any luckier than other combinations someone might pick. It's a game of chance. I've heard this so many times before, but the ONLY reason why there are lots of QP winners is because more QP tickets are sold. I'm guessing 10 times the amount - maybe even more. Stand in line for an hour and you'll hear just about everyone say give me 5 quick picks for Lotto or Mega Money. I've probably been foolish, but I've been betti

Chief Passed Away
Chief,I can recall when the Jackpot Games forum here at Lottery Post wasn't nearly as active as it is now. You used to regularly post the numbers you'd be using in your wheel from your bell curve analysis of the MegaMillions and PowerBall games. There are numerous challenges and countless threads that were inspired by your pioneering efforts. That is just a part of your legacy to all of us here at Lottery Post, especially the jackpot players.I always admired and was somewhat inspired by the indo

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
The Megamillions has rolled over again, and the cash value has risen. Based on sales, the cash value reached $113.1 and is expected to rise to $131.4, the annuity value from $165M to $192. This means that the lottery expects to sell about $57.9 tickets. From these values I estimate the probability of various numbers of winners as follows:071.93%123.70%23.90%30.43%40.04%The lottery's own last prediction of how many tickets they would sell was unusually close. Graphically, one sees some eviden

2 most recent Powerball winners
Well, yes and no it's what they hoped for. But the lottery officials got all panic stricken when a few people won consecutive pots in a short period of time. A lot of the possible winning tickets probably were generated when the big pots were running and people bought extended plays. Like I do when I travel to DC to play the big pots I usually get as many advance tickets that I can afford so I don't have to travel there for each draw. So sales fell of and they must have been brainstorming really

I hit 4+0 in Mega Millions tonight!
Check out my winning ticket from Mega Millions on Friday! The drawing results were 08-17-25-28-53 + 01; check out the middle line. Also, check out where the missing #28 is! (One number away from $250,000, oh well.)
Interesting also is the groupings of numbers, showing that the QP generator in the NJ lottery machine is not all that good. Getting a 3+0 and a 4+0 on one ticket defies the odds, yet here it is. Right now I'm loving that faulty Quick Pick RNG!

Powerball lottery 'winner' turns coy
Time for me to ramble here a bit. I agree with above quote. I know in my minds eye that I will say nothing........... getting those proverbial ducks in a row is a first and foremost priority.......... and I have plenty of idea's on that front.... I know it is impossible to keep your name from becoming public but I would want to fly as far below the radar as possible. To be honest the very thought of winning that huge of an amount would scare me just a little oh yes of course it would be nice w

would you take cash or payments on the PB
If you think it's only 25% than you would get a rude awaking on the April after winning. Not to mention how the state tax authorities would take it. Every major winner (over 200 million) took cash. Odds are they consulted lawyers before hand. Since I would also take cash and form a diverse trust I would not be in the market for an annuity. If you felt that you can't handle the money or have a relative you know can't handle the money it's far wiser to set up a perpetual annuity for tham rather th
