For me still watching 3D... wow, so sick... it is Mega Millions night. I used to buy 1 ticket/metaplier for a chance of winning. No more, forget it... odds are so bad, unreal. 1 in 52,000 just to win $500???? What a gimmick.... they prey on the big pot... you can win $$$$$$$$$.. use to be... you are likely to get hit by lightning 7 times before winning the main jackpot; now with the odds going from 175 million to 1, to 258 million to one... so now the odds probably is 10 times fried by lightning

The New Mega Millions Game - So Do You Like It Or Not?
I'm wondering who thought the 4/56 + 1/46 with overall odds of 1 in 40 of winning something was easy to win. Maybe it's someone who matched 5 + 0 or won the jackpot who knows the odds of winning again will be longer. How can the odds be worse for those playing $2 every drawing who probably hardly ever even cashed?
There should be less jackpots won each year, but the average size of the jackpots should be larger. It will cause problems for the $1 players patiently waiting their turn because th

The New Mega Millions Game - So Do You Like It Or Not?
No, I don't like it. I don't waste $1 on it. To me it's such a waste. We control the game, so I simply don't play and wish others stop living on this crazy dream of winning it big... when the odds are against us. You are more likely to get struck by lightning than winning. Remember we conttol the game. Stop playing if you want to make a change. Don't just talk about how much you don't like it and continue to be a feeder... know the odds, know the odds of winning the 2nd/3rd prize as well. It's a

Since the odds don't change- is it wise to buy more than One ticket for either jackpot?
The odds don't change Pick3- one increases their chances but the odds remain constant to the best of my knowledge..
I stand to be corrected if l am in the wrong here, but the odds are etched in stone on the back of the ticket so it goes without sayin,.however if l am in error- please correct me.

Two Quick Picks from Same Store for Same Florida Fantasy 5 Drawing?
Likely a misprint but not impossible of course.
The odds of a duplicate quick pick are the same as the odds of winning. So to get the odds of a duplicate quick pick from the same store would probably be calculated using either the sales for that store versus the total sales, or using the number of stores in Florida.

Tickets for updated Mega Millions game on sale Saturday
Both views are right, but the confusion comes in the proper terminology: Odds versus Probability
Buying 1 MM ticket has probability of 1 in 258,890,850 and 2 tickets is 2 chances so yes, equivalent to 1 in 129,445,425.
But similarly, 1 MM ticket has odds of 1:258,890,849 and 2 tickets is 2:258,890,848 so apparently not much of an improvement when looked at this way.
I wrote about this before but basic summary is below:
Probability is: ( chances for ) / ( total chances )
Odds is: (

Mega Millions cost $1, Powerball costs $2. Odds of Powerball jackpot are 1 in 175,223,510. So to compare by cost, Mega Millions is still better because you can buy 2 tickets for the price of one Powerball. That gives you odds of 2 in 258,890,850 or simplified as 1 in 129,445,425.
The odds are stated correctly. Remember, there is the chance of matching more than just the Megaball. So the chances of ONLY matching the Megaball are actually harder.

$20 Scratch Off Tickets
odds an scratchers...ehh
I think in florida the odds to win 200k a year is 3million, the odds to win the 5,000 a week for life is 6million, I think because you get more money after all taxes are out if you win the 5,000 a week one

$20 Scratch Off Tickets
I see the odds are 1 in 2.95 on average.
What you should remember is that the odds provided are overrall odds and only apply when all tickets printed are sold. People who conduct the scratch ticket experiment and buy $100 worth of the $2 scratch tickets say that most of the times the return is about 38% of the money invested. I wish you good luck if you go for it.
