Mega Millions multi-state lottery to get harder to win in Oct.
I keep thinking if winning the jackpot is just a dream then players will really be playing to win the second prize.
Now the question is what amount will the second prize has to be with odds of 1:18M to be competitive with local games offering jackpots with better odds. For example Ohio has Classic Lotto(6/49) with jackpots of $1-$50M with odds of 1:14M.

Mega Millions multi-state lottery to get harder to win in Oct.
Ya close to a extra 100 mill WORSE odds is NOTHING. When games like Powerball make the odds better these guys make it WORSE. Do they not see lower sales now then last year? So instead of MAYBE making odds better. They make them WORSE. The sales will be half of what they are this year by next year. Will people buy when it get's to a CRAZY amount of course. But until then they will not be selling well.

Do you give much thoughts to the " odds" when playing the lottery?
If you never swim in the ocean, your odds of being attacked by a shark approach 0.
If you go surfing in shark-infested waters every day, the odds are much higher than 1/11,500,000. The same goes for most of the other odds.

I'm aware of the odds but don't give a whole lot of thought to them, it's the lottery.
When anyone comments about Do you know the odds against winning the lottery? I tell them that the odds are a lot better if you have a ticket than if you don't!

Question for those who have bought the whole roll
It is by far the worst game.... ha!! I only bought it because it has the best odds at a million, and the best odds at a thousand bucks out of the other $20 games. This is the ONLY $20 game I've never hit $500 on....the coating on the ticket is hard to scratch off, the odds are terrible for even the lower-tiered prizes, etc.... This is truly the game where I say only try it if you have a good feeling, or if you are going for the big win. It's awful otherwise.

Question for those who have bought the whole roll
When you bought the whole roll, did the odds of winning from that roll matched the odds published by the lottery?
For example if the odds published by the lottery were 1 in 4 and you bought the whole roll consisted of 100 tickets, did you get 25 winning tickets?

Tennessee Tickets??
Hey All,
I will be in Nashville next weekend, and I'm wondering what $10 or $20 games can be recommended. I don't see anywhere that shows the actual odds for the games--just the overall odds. The $25 game has better overall odds than Florida's $25 game, so I may try it.

Eliminators - The workup hit men.
Joseph:On my earlier comments, I alluded to 'subsetting' of the Pool(0-9) which is not different from the cycle of draw set towards or in favor certain digits. Some folks argued that, subsetting changes the odds and many digits of the pool is filtered out , but who says the odds should remain as established by the rules, nothing prevents me from creating my odds/probabilities in moments(Look at how probability is defined). Now lets take a step back to sequence formation : the next of sequence 0-

Statisticians search for how to beat the lottery
We all know that quick picks win jackpots in a directly proportional relationship to the overall percentage of quick picks purchased, but has there ever been a study of the success of self picks vs overall odds to win ANY prize level?
For example if someone wins any level prize at a rate of 1:10.4 for a game with 1:16.1 overall odds, or 1:5 for a game with 1:6.6 odds with a sample size of several hundred tickets per game would you then say they have a viable system, or would you say the
